Yesterday

4-10. We opened with a flourish and we closed with a flourish -- and it took us to 111 total wins, smack dab in the middle of the 110 we had last year and the 112 of 2003.

It was a super-solid Week One this year as we pulled down 24 winners. But Week Six was even better -- 25 winners. In between we hit a lull in the middle of the season where, as we wrote, we were often caught zigging when they were zagging. But the results were still close enough -- with a lot of our top picks running second, or our second choices winning -- that we knew we could 'stick with the program' and it was only a matter of time before things turned back around.

On Monday, four winners on top (1st, $7.50; 2nd, $5.80; 3rd, $3.30; 8th, $6.60). Also, three cold exactas (2nd, $21.60/$2; 4th, $13.20; 8th, $12.40). In the 2nd we also had a cold tri ($45.40). In the 3rd it was a reverse exacta ($17.80). Plus, a boxed tri with our top three in the 9th ($40.00). And with one of our top two winning seven of the ten races there was the usual assortment of picks and doubles available using the selections.

We hope you were along for the crazy ride of Week Six. Those 25 total winner for the six days were pumped up by a 7-for-11 Saturday, and on Thursday we had a nice $23.80 winner on top (and, as explained on the Bankroll Challenge page we felt the price was mighty short at that!). If you use the 2005 archive calendar you can follow the progress of the last week -- and you can also check the Bankroll Challenge where we made a valiant stab during the final seven days and added in the neighborhood of $700 to our mythical bankroll.

And, as always, we'll have a more Complete Season Wrap-up available on Wednesday, which will include more season-ending figures for us, as well as the public handicappers scorecard for the meet.

It was fun. Hope you were all winners for the season.

See you next year...

But of course, don't forget our Coast-to-coast page which offers up selections and insight for some of the major stakes races across the country every weekend!

If we are interested in both halves of an entry -- in event of a scratch -- it is noted that way. If only one-half of the entry is named, then we prefer that half and will move to our next pick listed in event of a scratch.
