Saratoga Race Course Thursday, August 11, 2011 Total for the meet... $838.10

We're kickin' our mythical bankroll up to $1200 to start the 2011 Saratoga thoroughbred race meet. In past years we've started with $1000, but with the 40-day meet a $1200 bankroll gives us a reasonable $30/day average. Each day we'll use this space to record our mythical best bets and calculate the accumulated wins and losses.

Yesterday...

Ack! Made a mistake in R5 - where we had a Sheppard Special. Asleep at the switch not playing WP on eventual Sheppard-trainer winner Emerald Beech [$14.00, 7.10] - and not including our fourth pick in the mix in case of a scratch. Which is what happened and that kept us from a very nice exacta [$104.50/$2]. Doh!

RACE TWO... $1 exacta box... Ducky McLean/Trashi Diva/I'd Lie/Flavor Girl.
Collected $11.50 on the ex box [$23.00/$2]... Ducky scratched.

RACE FOUR... $2 exacta box... Elusive Story/Win All/Quartermain/Raconteur.
Ran 2-5-6-7.

RACE FIVE... $2 exacta box... Snow Top Mountain/Emerald Beech/Tarrip.
Ran WON-4-scr.

Loss for the day... $22.50
