We started the 2005 Saratoga thoroughbred race meet with a mythical bankroll of $1000. Each day we'll use this space to record our mythical best bets and calculate the accumulated wins and losses.

Yesterday...

Ouch! Inexplicably shot ourselves in the foot in the early double and cost us a profit on the day. The intention was to box our top two choice from the picks page in the early double. And when our second choice won the first two and combined for a decent $43.20/$2 early double we thought we were set... But upon further review we were disappointed to note that we put Saturday's Cat, our fourth choice, in the mix in the 2nd race, rather than our second selection, the winner, Immersed in Gold. Well, we have to take the loss on that one -- and just be thankful it was only $40... But it would have been enough to push us into the black for another day...

Collected $36.00 on the ex box ($14.40/$2).

RACE 8/9... $5 DD... R8/Karakorum Splendor... R9/Blue Sunday.
Collected $15.25 on the DD ($6.10/$2).

RACE NINE... $1 tri key Blue Sunday over Precise Motion/Wamp/Special Jet.
Special Jet scratched.
