Picks and plays for some of the day's major stakes

Three winners on top in nine races (Aqueduct, $2.90; Laurel, $3.80; Golden Gate, $6.00). Also our top three boxed for the $57.60/$2 Dubai World Cup tri. And we picked up a few other gimmicks to help the cause -- although not enough to move into the black ofr the day...

WAGERED: $284.00
COLLECTED:$151.90

Turf wagers are turf only

Dubai World Cup G1 $6 mil

Pleasantly Perfect
Medaglia d'Oro
Victory Moon

Wager: $5 WP on Victory Moon.
Ran 3rd.
...$2 tri box top three.
Collected $57.60 on the tri box ($57.60/$2).

Victory Moon...Good form over the course. 2-2 at the trip. Slight edge over the US stars.
Medaglia d'Oro...Can't ignore that he's only 1-6 at the distance -- although he has three second-place finishes as well, against top company. Would be no surprise, but the lone win at the trip is a concern.
Pleasantly Perfect...BC Classic winner is also questionable at the trip -- and don't forget he missed the 'Big Cap with a brief illness. Also vulnerable, but certainly capable on best.

Aqueduct: Distaff BC H'cp G2 $150K

Randaroo 2-5
Chirimoya 23-1
Storm Flag Flying 2-1

Wager: $10 exacta Randaroo over Storm Flag Flying.
Ran 1-3.

Randaroo...Likes the track. Likes the trip. Ships up from Gulfstream off of big win in G3 Shirley Jones.
Storm Flag Flying...Well over a year away from a graded win -- need to see her do it again before supporting whole-heartedly.

Laurel: Private Terms $60K

Water Cannon 4-5
Acclimate 9-1
Major Tanner 22-1

Wager: $5 WP on Water Cannon.
Collected $15.50 on the WP ($3.80, 2.40).
...$2 exacta box top two.
Ran 1-4.
...$1 exacta box top four.
Ran 1-4-5-6.
...$1 tri box top four.
Ran 1-4-5-6.

Water Cannon...Took him awhile to get the hang of the game -- but seems to have matured into a nice 3YO. Brings three-race streak into this, all over the track and at the trip. Gets top jock. Adds up.
Eastern Bay...Had a two-race streak snapped when nipped by top pick in last.
Cryptic Skier...Yet to miss the board in five starts.
Mahican.

Gulfstream: Artax H'cp $100K

Speightstown 3-1
Pretty Wild 3-1
Wacky for Love 6-1

Gygistar scratched.

Wager: $5 WP on Gygistar.
scratched.
...$2 exacta box top two.
Scratched.
...$1 exacta box top four.
Ran 2-3-9.
...$1 tri box top four.
Ran 2-3-9.

Gygistar...Might find this group a little easier after facing likes of Alke, Cajun Beat, and Aldebaran over last few.
Pretty Wild...Might be tough if he can move forward off of return effort.
Deer Lake...8-17 record shows he knows how to win. Only two tries at the trip -- but he's always in the hunt.
Wacky For Love.

Fair Grounds: Sarah Lane's Oates H'cp $100K

Placid Star 6-5
Young Emotions 3-1
Merry Mary 18-1

Wager: $5 WP on Young Emotions.
Collected $9.00 on the WP (xxx, 3.60).
...$2 exacta box top two.
Ran 2-12.
...$1 exacta box top four.
Collected $9.90 on the ex box ($19.80/$2).
...$1 tri box top four.
Ran 1-2-4-12.

Young Emotions...Post no bonus but 2-2 turf record merits timid nod in wide-open affair.
Madison's Music...Seems better at two turns so let's forgive last. Closing style should help.
Katlin's Rocket...Moves up after maiden win -- but that one was too good to ignore in turf debut.
Placid Star.

Oaklawn: Carousel $50K

Eternal Cup 4-1
Surf N Sand 7-2
See How She Runs 1-1

Puffy Shirt broke down.

Wager: $5 WP on Puffy Shirt.
Ran 6th.
...$2 exacta box top two.
Ran 3-6.
...$1 tri key Puffy Shirt over next three.
Ran 6/1-2-3.

Puffy Shirt...Two gorgeous wins since returning as a 4YO. Makes stakes debut but looks capable.
See How She Runs...Nice try last time off of layoff. Extra half furlong will help late run.
Eternal Cup...Could be ready to fire a big one.
Surf N Sand.

Santa Anita: San Pedro $75K

Courageous Act 9-2
Wimplestiltskin 7-1
Stalking Tiger 9-5

Wager: $5 WP on Stalking Tiger.
Ran 3rd.
...$2 exacta box top two.
Ran 3-5.
...$1 exacta box top four.
Ran 1-3-5-6.
...$1 tri box top four.
Ran 1-3-5-6.

Stalking Tiger...Finished just behind the promising Seattle Borders last time. That one came back to run second in a Golden Gate stake two weeks ago. Tiger moves turf-to-dirt and has run well on the main track in the past.
Jimmy's Instinct...Showing nice improvement since December. Claimed three back by Mullins. Should appreciate return to sprint.
Courageous Act...Has an affinity for the strip. Also should like return to one-turn.
Straw Poll.

Santa Ana H'cp G2 $150K

Katdogawn 5-1
Fun House 8-1
Arabic Song 12-1

Megahertz DQ's from first to seventh.

Wager: $5 WP on Megahertz.
DQ'd from 1st to 7th at 3-5.
...$2 exacta box top two.
Ran 4-7.
...$1 exacta box top four.
Collected $36.40 on the ex box ($72.80/$2).
...$1 tri box top four.
Ran 1-2-4-7.

Megahertz...Comes out of a solid win this track and trip. Repeat.
Mandela...Woke up when moved into Frankel barn last time.
Katdogawn...Has been going well since autumn return to races.
Fun House.

Golden Gate: Berkeley BC H'cp G3 $100K

Snorter 2-1
Yougottawanna 2-1
Taste of Paradise 3-1

Wager: $5 WP on Snorter.
Collected $23.50 on the WP (6.00, 3.40).
...$2 exacta box top two.
Ran 1-5.
...$1 tri box top three.
Ran 1-2-5.

Snorter...Frankel trainee brings two-race streak up from SoCal.
Jets Fan...Local runner has his own two-race streak including a stake at this trip last time.
Yougottawanna...Won big here last time. Was claimed. Trainer 30% first time off the claim.
