Picks and plays for some of the day's major stakes

Not a bad day -- but nothing to write home about either. Broke even with winners on top, scoring with the top selection in two out of the seven races (Gulfstream, $7.60; Santa Anita, $6.40). Just missed with another at Aqueduct as Evening Attire's closing effort fell short in a photo. Otherwise, we managed a cold tri in the Holy Bull at Gulfstream plus a couple more boxed tri's and the exactas in those races as well.

Enough to make things interesting -- but not enough value to put us over the top.

WAGERED: $300.00
COLLECTED: $255.25

Turf wagers are turf only

Aqueduct: Aqueduct H'cp G3 $100K

Seattle Fitz 5-2
Evening Attire 4-5
Rogue Agent 30-1

Wager: $5 W on Evening Attire.
Ran 2nd.
...$4 exacta box top two.
Collected $29.20 on the ex box ($14.60/$2).
...$1 tri box top four.
Collected $77.25 on the tri box ($154.50/$2).

Evening Attire...G1 winner might be a little classier than these.
Seattle Fitz...A head behind top pick last time.
Abreeze...Speed hasn't been king on the inner thus far -- but this one wired an optional claimer last time and might be tough on the lead today.
Rogue Agent.

Aqueduct: Affectionately H'cp G3 $100K

Austin's Mom 11-1
Golden Damsel 4-1
Consort Music 57-1

Wager: $5 WP on Message Red.
Ran 6th at 2-1.
...$2 exacta box top two.
Ran 2-6.
...$1 exacta box top four, sub next if scratch.
Ran 2-4-5-6.
...$1 tri box top four, sub next if scratch.
Ran 2-4-5-6.

Message Red...Put together a nice run of races on the inner about this time last year. 2-2 at the trip.
Golden Damsel...Wired an alw race last time and might prove to be the one to catch.
Queen's Triomphe...Improved nicely since moving into Bush barn.
Cruise Along.
Austin's Mom.

Laurel: What A Summer $75K

Bronze Abe 9-5
Bamba 8-1
Gazillion 1-1

Wager: $5 W on Gazillion.
Ran 3rd.
...$2 exacta box top two.
Ran 3-5.
...$2 tri box top three.
Ran 1-3-5.
...$1 tri box top four.
Collected $36.60 on the tri box ($73.30/$2).

Gazillion...Hard to fault the solid 12-7-3-1 record over the course. Has put together three good races since returning from layoff.
Search for a Cure...Makes third start off layoff and is in search of a three-win streak. Also likes the course.
Bronze Abe...Yet another that likes the track and trip.
Bamba.

Tampa Bay: Pasco $60K

Misguided Left 5-1
Wire Bound 20-1
Bourbon N Blues 10-1

Andiamo scratched.

Wager: $5 WP on Andiamo.
Scratched.
...$2 exacta box top two.
Scratched.
...$1 exacta box top four.
Ran 2-3-7.
...$1 tri box top four.
Ran 2-3-7.

Andiamo...Big MSW win in first start. A repeat is enough to compete here -- any improvement will be a bonus.
Kaufy Mate...2-2 since moved to dirt. Brings regular pilot cross-state for this.
Bourbon N Blues...Looked good winning when blinkers were added last time.
Wire Bound.

Gulfstream: Holy Bull G3 $100K

Second of June 5-2
Silver Wagon 8-5
Friends Lake 3-1

Wager: $5 WP on Second of June.
Collected $27.00 on the WP (7.60, 3.20).
...$2 exacta box top two.
Collected $18.20 on the ex box ($18.20/$2).
...$1 exacta box top four.
Collected $9.10 on the ex box.
...$1 tri box top four.
Collected $22.90 on the tri box ($45.80/$2).

Second of June...Has thrown in only one clunker in five starts -- and that can be blamed on a poor start. Comes out of a daylight win in a $100K stake last time.
Silver Wagon...Five behind top pick last time but should be tighter today with that one under belt off of layoff.
Friends Lake...NY-bred tries open company today but looks good enough to compete.
Smoocher.

Fair Grounds: Crescent City Derby $75K

Arcus 13-1
Walk This Way 8-5
Old Lee 9-1

Wager: $5 WP on Walk This Way.
Collected $8.50 on the WP (xxx, 3.40).
...$2 exacta box top two.
Ran 2-5.
...$1 exacta box top four.
Ran 2-5-6-7.
...$1 tri box top four.
Ran 2-5-6-7.

Walk This Way...Seems to be getting the hang of it -- having taken a nice state-bred stake last time. Will be tough if able to negotiate the stretch-out.
Star Struck Latte...Picked up last time out of a La-bred mdn clm. Asmussen strong off the claim.
Caroline's Prince...Another that seems to have improved nicely over the last few.
Ten Times Better.

Santa Anita: Santa Catalina G2 $150K

St Averil 2-1
Lucky Pulpit 18-1
Master David 6-5

Wager: $5 WP on St Averil.
Collected $26.50 on the WP (6.40, 4.20).
...$5 exacta box top two.
Ran 1-3.
...$1 exacta box top four.
Ran 1-3-5-6.
...$1 tri box top four.
Ran 1-3-5-6.

St Averil...Moved from debut MSW win straight into G1 and was OK second behind monster Lion Heart. Could prove tough with that experience under belt.
Master David...Euro import ran second behind Readthe Footnotes in US debut. Has since moved into Frankel's barn.
Perfect Moon...Graded winner hasn't missed the board in last seven tries.
Harvard Avenue.
