Picks and plays for some of the day's major stakes

Only one winner on top in nine races -- although four more top picks ran second, including 15-1 Honey Ryder which lost by a head-bob at Calder. The gimmicks also came up lighter than we might have hoped for... A cold exacta at Aqueduct (Demoiselle, $4.60/$2) and our fourth choice completed the tri ($33.40/$2). Our top two picks flip-flopped at Hollywood for the exacta (Generous, $26.80/$2). And we picked up a few more exacta and tri boxes. Overall it was a little frustrating with ours running first and third in a couple and then finding little value when ours did come in.

Still the day was good enough to enable us to claim a modest coast-to-coast profit for the month of November.
