Our wagering was canceled in a couple of events with one being knocked off the grass and the other seeing our top pick scratched from a short field. So we wound up with an impressive five winners on top in nine races (Calder, $7.20; Lone Star, $2.60; Hollywood, $15.00, 6.60; Bay Meadows, $3.80). That translates to a 95% ROI on straight win bets.

We also scrounged together some nice gimmicks on the day. At the top of that list is the $147.20/$2 cold tri at Hollywood -- that included a $36.40/$2 cold exacta. Our top three also combined for a $153.60/$2 tri in another Hollywood race. Boxes with our top four picks grabbed a couple more tri's on the day as well as three exactas.

But we were frustrated in a few of the races that might've changed our profits completely. At Calder we had the winner but couldn't get anything underneath. Same at Lone Star. And at Hollywood we had the 6-1 winner in one of the stakes but two of our others taunted us by running third and fourth at 12-1 and 1-1. Even if only the 12-1 gets up and completes our exacta it would changed our day significantly.

Cyber Secret...Beat Storm Flag Flying last time and that's not too shabby.
House Party...Jerkens filly ran a lights out 106 Beyer last time and if that was an indication of her current form and not just a freaky run in the slop she'll be tough today.

Dynever...There are some questions marks. This lightly raced 3YO has only raced over the Gulfstream strip -- but those last two were dynamite. Could be a star in the division by late summer -- but must pass this test first.
Grendel...No doubt this is a little bit of a stretch but just have a feeling this one is sitting on a nice effort.
Crowned Dancer...Ran out of the money for first time in Blue Grass but had an excuse there. Look for an improved effort today.
