Yesterday

2-10. Winners in R8 [9.80] and R9 [2.60]. Otherwise, OOPH!, a rough afternoon: R7 ... Bc-A-x x 19.40 B scr; R9 ... ACx 2.60 x 14.20.

Attendance: 26834. Weather -- yep, again, mostly sunny hot and humid. A very few loud claps of thunder and a couple brief spits of trying to rain.

Today

FIRST RACE
Mullingar...Dam's first foal was 2005. Has some win-early sibs, including as recently as 2108 sib Nova Rags who won debut.
Red Route One...Sire is win-early.
Battle of Normandy...Maybe.
Alexis Zorba.
Dirt: 4-5-7-2.

SECOND RACE
She Caught My Eye... Sire is win-early. Sib Jewel of Arabia was 3,2,2,1,1 to start career. Certainly didn't live up to 'win-early' in debut, but comes back on a new surface and at a reduced price.
Mostly Harmless...Looks to fit with this bunch.
Afilada... Often in the hunt -- and might be the one to beat.
Te,kila.

THIRD RACE
Khali Magic...In good form and is looking to grab a repeat win at the meet.
Miss Alacrity...Hasn't quite lived up to early promise but might be primed in this third start back.
Mosienko...Behind top pick in latest.
Beautiful Karen.

FOURTH RACE
Good governance...Very lightly raced 6YO is capable if able to fire a best effort.
Famished...Seems better than the 15-1 ML indicates.
Eyes On Target/Dream Works...Eyes might actually be the one to beat. Dream Works was OK in Europe.
Turn of Events.
Dirt: 10-5-11-9.

FIFTH RACE - $135K Lure
Sifting Sands...Had to step uo to win two last year at Saratoga at nice prices -- might do that once again.
Public Sector...7/15 start was first loss at Saratoga.
Somelikeithotbrown...Also has run well here. NY-bred likely the one to beat.
South Bend.
Dirt: 3-5-6.

SIXTH RACE
Point Proven...Sib Twenty Carat started 2,1,1. Sib Mystic Night 5,5,1,1 to start career.
Disarm...Asmussen trainees often imrpove nicely with a start under the belt. Has multiple win-early sibs: Tap Daddy, Total Tap, Continuum.
Perform...Experience counts.
Arthur's Ride.

SEVENTH RACE - G2 $250K Glens Falls
War Like Goddess...Hard to knock the record.
Virginia Joy...Capable on best.
Temple City Terror...Better than latest.
Petricor.
Dirt: 6-2-1-3-5.

EIGHTH RACE
Saint Tapit...Impressed in debut. Get a little more of a test today.
Money Supply...Has shown flashes of talent.
Hometown...Off since last year but also touted himself with very nice efforts.
Osbourne.

NINTH RACE - G1 $500K Test
Matareya...Seems likely vs these coming in with a solid four-race win-streak.
Wish You Well...Hmm. We'll attribute second-start dud to the off track. Rebounds if things are drier on Saturday.
Hot Peppers...Has early Speed.
November Rein.

TENTH RACE - G1 $1mil Whitney
Life Is Good...Slight nod in a super-competitive Whitney. Solid at this trip in G1 Pegasus and then rebounded from Dubai nicely in the win last time. Ready.
Olympiad...A much improved 4YO.
Americanrevolution...Dangerous.
Hot rod Charlie.

ELEVENTH RACE - G1 $1mil Saratoga Derby Invy
Annapolis...Perhaps some speed to shoot at -- but at this trip there's also the possibility that the speed might just be allowed to float.
Nations Pride...Euro-invader should also be heard from late.
Classic Causeway...Allowed to take them all the way in turf debut last time.
Emmanuel.
Dirt: 3-11-9.

TWELFTH RACE
Your Mission...Relatively lightly raced. Comebacker was an improved effort.
Curlin's Wisdom...Beyers fit.
Biondi...Lightly-raced and numbers that fit.
Walk Em Down.
Dreampoint.
Dirt: 3-1A-11-10.

If we are interested in both halves of an entry -- in event of a scratch -- it is noted that way [in other words, both halves are named]. If only one-half of the entry is named, then we prefer that half and will move to our next pick listed [rather than the other half of the entry] in event of a scratch.
