Don't forget to check out the Challenge page where we started the month with a mythical $2000 bankroll and attempt to increase that amount as the Saratoga season continues.

Merrow's picks can also be found on most Saratoga racing says at the Capital OTB Handicappers' Report. Also on a rotating basis throughout the Saratoga meet in the hard copy of the Albany Times-Union.

Turf picks are turf only - unless otherwise indicated.

No racing.

And away we go...

Castle Casanova...On the class move.
Guy Caballero...Perhaps a Beyers edge.
Grit and Glory...Lost as fave on the drop last time. Claimed, comes back at same price. Hmm.
Jerome Avenue.

Mutakaamil...Perhaps breaks through on the move in for a tag.
Scanno...Has been in the mix since moving in for a tag.
Leading West...Should be heard from in the lane.
This Ill Defend.
Eternal Summer.
Dirt: 8-1-10-5-6.

Figure of Speech...In from a couple good Churchill works for second start back.
Palomita...Last was perhaps best yet. Interesting to see what the jock will do at this meet after a good couple of months in Kentucky.
Palace Avenger...Over-matched in latest.

Gran Chemin...Sire good with win-early runners. Might prove interesting trying a dirt sprint after not being seen since turf route debut at this meet last summer. Bullet work in tow.
Valletta...Experience counts.
Dial Me Up...Sib Cuckoo Kenia won debut.
Yes to Mischief.

Dark Money...Off the latest.
The Caretaker...Looks like the one to beat.
Big Engine...Contends if ready off the layoff.
Steam Engine.

Propensity...Likely to contend with these on the class drop.
Spitball...Improved on grass and move to this level.
Sir Chubby...Looks to fit with this bunch.
Tiz Envy.
Dirt: 6-14-12-10.

Astoria Kitten...Might take them all the way.
Summer At the Spa...First two have been promising.
Marquet Legacy...Seems like a fit with these.
Dirt: 8-3-2-10.

EIGHTH RACE - G3 $100K Schuylerville
Beautiful Memories...BIG debut win. Sib Super Comet won first two. Sib Kimbear was a stakes winner in Dubai.
Hopeful Princess...Private purchase after Churchill debut win goes out for Asmussen in this event.
Dayoutoftheoffice...Impressive first-out win.
Make Mischief.

NINTH RACE - G3 $100K Peter Pan
Candy Tycoon...Capable on best.
Mystic Guide...Might be primed.
Caracaro...Broke through with a solid Beyer in the maiden-breaker -- but that was in January.
Country Grammer.

Secure Connection...Moving into the claiming ranks.
Alley to Calvary...Looks able to contend with these.
Summer Fortune...Lightly-raced so maybe with some upside -- and has some early speed.
Dirt: 8-2-7-11.

If we are interested in both halves of an entry -- in event of a scratch -- it is noted that way [in other words, both halves are named]. If only one-half of the entry is named, then we prefer that half and will move to our next pick listed [rather than the other half of the entry] in event of a scratch.
