Don't forget to check out the Challenge page where we started the month with a mythical $1200 bankroll and attempt to increase that amount as the Saratoga season continues.

Yesterday

2-10. Winners in the 3rd [4.00] and 7th [8.00]. Some gimmicks using the picks: R1... BAx x 25.60; R2 ... Cf-Bc-x "A" "D" "E" scr x 12.20; R7 ... ABED x 22.00 t 74.50 s 138.50; R8 ... Cd-A-B "C" scr x 14.00 t 29.20.

Frustrating start to Week Five - as we wait for that breakout day. Still seem to be treading water.

15622 attended. It was partly sunny and, well, frankly, a little bit chilly. The early morning was overcast and raw with a chilly breeze. The sun poked through by late morning and temps moderated - but it was still unseasonably cool. Races 2, 5, and 10 were knocked off the grass.

Today

FIRST RACE
Total Command... Sheppard runner is extremely lightly-raced over the past two years - but last year's comebacker was solid.
Call Me Sonny...Stakes win last time. Back in for a tag today.
Easy Reach...The one to catch?
Young Bohemian.

SECOND RACE - Walsh Novice $70K
Barnstorming...Just missed here on 7/25.
Sacred Soul...Back to jumps - where he's riding a two-race win-streak - after a good second on the flat.
Powerofone...Better than latest.
Extraextraordinary.
Private Equity.

THIRD RACE
Divine Energy...Pletcher 2YO by Tapit. Spells: W-I-N E-A-R-L-Y.
Pure Sensation...Another that should win sooner rather than later based on breeding and connections - and just missed in debut behind subsequent stakes winner.
Pecorino... Second in debut for Pletcher. Should benefit from that education.
Roll All Knight.

FOURTH RACE
All That...Might be primed in second start back from a brief layoff and returning to dirt.
Brabbham...Looks like the speed.
Sneaky Blowout...Pletcher/Repole runner looks capable on best effort.
Dyker Beach.

FIFTH RACE
Flowing Mane...Drops off the claim for Maker/Ramsey.
Smoke Town...Will contend if that last Beyer is for real.
Mr Algebra...Seems in good form.
Saved the Best.
Dirt: Summer Sands, Request a Puck, Golden Greeley, Chics Palace-Song of Aspen.

SIXTH RACE
Much Stronger...Class jump but looks capable off of the latest fro a crafty claiming trainer.
The Truth and KG...Could be interesting if the quick turnaround actually happens.
Where's Dominic...In for a tag off of stakes efforts - the cutback might be interesting.
Two Ts At Two B.

SEVENTH RACE
Hot Squeeze...Has some nature and nurture at work.
Sassy Salsa...AE list. Sib Rae Jet was a debut winner.
May Shares...Nice work on 7/22.
Aspree.
Talk to Me.
Dirt: Same plus Star Grazing, Alwaysinstilettos, Don't Blame Her.

EIGHTH RACE - $150K West Point

Mr Vegas...OK return. Faces NY-breds today.
Hangover Kid.
Dirt: Bigger Is Bettor, Groomedforvictory, Awesome Vision, So Scott, Hangover Kid.

Teaks North...Looks capable in here.
Roadhog...Interesting on the move from PID.
Sky Blazer.
Dirt: Aussi Austin, then same as above.

TENTH RACE
Tapit Express...Probably needs to step it up in here - but could be an interesting play from Sheppard.
Beer Garden...Over-matched last time. Better fit here.
Tiz Gianni...Off the claim for potent claiming connections.
Nine O Wonderful.
Monument Hill.
Farhaan.
Dirt: Bradester, Cozzetti, Star Harbour, then same as above.

ELEVENTH RACE
Hoboken Joe...Could be a good fit here moving back in out of couple tries in NY-bred MSW company.
Jacob Black...'Fresh face'.
Freight...Crossed finish line first last time - in an improved effort - but was DQ'd.
Dapper Draper.
Southern Safari.
Show Some Lovin.
Dirt: Same.

If we are interested in both halves of an entry -- in event of a scratch -- it is noted that way [in other words, both halves are named]. If only one-half of the entry is named, then we prefer that half and will move to our next pick listed [rather than the other half of the entry] in event of a scratch.
