Yesterday

2-10. Winners in the 5th [$2.90] and 7th [7.90]. Amazing value in the cold exacta in the 5th - our "A" horse, the Pletcher winner, was a chalky 2-5, but our "B" horse ran second as the 25-1 rank outsider and completed a juicy $42/60/$2 exacta. We also had a reverse B-A exacta in the 10th [$32.00]. Others gimmicks with the picks: R1 BCA x 92.00 t 278.00; R2 CADB x 10.40 t 49.60 s 108.00; R4 DBC x 26.80 t 81.00.

12818 attended - and what a difference a day or two makes... Temps shifted from the oven-like weekend of heat and humidity to a more late-summer early-fall situation, with a chilly morning and a comfortable afternoon.

Today

Family Friday: Friday marks the meet's second Family Friday – an attraction that will stretch the length of the 2013 season. The family festivals will be held each Friday from noon to 4 p.m. in the Event Tent, located inside the entrance to the Reserved Seats Office near the Carousel. Family Fridays features a variety of free family-friendly activities for all ages, including a bounce inflatable and the Tiny Tots Tea Room arts and crafts table. This week's featured activity is the educational and explorative Leaping Lizards and Rocking Reptiles exhibit from The Children's Museum of Science and Technology. Kids will have a chance to meet the cold-blooded creatures, while learning about their behaviors, habitats and lifestyles.

FIRST RACE
Currency Swap...Should appreciate return to saratoga.
Doctor Chit...Pletcher trainee looks like the one to beat - but top pick did that here last summer.
Spa City Fever...Capable of running a big one.
Jake N Elwood.

SECOND RACE
Unbroken Dream...Claimed two back by Rudy and probably better than latest effort.
I Jus Wana Hav Fun...Could be finding some class relief.
Voodoo Tales...Ran well last time with the move in for a tag and the return to dirt.
Group Therapy.

THIRD RACE
Brabbham...Improved in second career start - showed speed and just missed. Might be primed to go well here.
Sliver and Onions...Similar scenario to top pick.
Dyker Beach...Showed life two back. Add blinkers today.
King of Broadway.

FOURTH RACE
Friedman entry...Read the Research might have a slight recent Beyer edge on these. Belle Gallantey could be second best in here.
Nothing But Air...Solid in debut - but getting a class test here.
Spa City Lover...Likes this track. Let's hope he needed the latest off of the long layoff.
Currency Union.

FIFTH RACE
Sakonnet Point...Could be an interesting runner making the second career start for Sheppard. Rosie rides.
The Lady Says Yes...Been in the hunt every start.
You So Smart...Woke up on turf.
Familyofroses.

SIXTH RACE
Ramsey entry...Runs Like a Kitten should fit with these. Ella's Kitten preferred off of the solid try for a tag last time.
Posse Attack...Numbers are improving.
Present Course...Moves MSW to mdn clm.
Bernie's Best.

SEVENTH RACE
Delightful Dawn...Seems in good form for a hot trainer.
Centrina...Beyers indicate she might be ready.
Fava...Won a similar race last time.
Fall Into Faith.

EIGHTH RACE - Curlin $100K
Edge of Reality...Dutrow runner gets tested but comes in with a two-race win-streak -- both by daylight.
Transparent...Has shown flashes of real talent. He's certainly capable here on his best effort.
Proud Strike...Should be rolling late.
Cerro.

NINTH RACE
Devil's Cave...Could be interesting off the layoff.
Quiet Ending...In the hunt more often than not.
Lawless Miss...Beyers put her in the mix.
Sweet N Discreet.

TENTH RACE
Madris...AE list. First off claim for Ramsey/Maker.
Coach Royal...Looks like the one to beat.
Shertzer...Might appreciate return to turf.
Griffin Rock.
Amber Coast.
Mr Alegebra.

If we are interested in both halves of an entry -- in event of a scratch -- it is noted that way [in other words, both halves are named]. If only one-half of the entry is named, then we prefer that half and will move to our next pick listed [rather than the other half of the entry] in event of a scratch.
