Don't forget to check out the Challenge page where we started the month with a mythical $1200 bankroll and attempt to increase that amount as the Saratoga season continues.

Yesterday

1-11. The jinx continues... As soon as we noted that after Saturday's card we were poised to make a run to the 120-win mark we went into the tank. Thursday was the fourth straight day of anemic numbers for winners-on-top.

Winner in the 3rd [$2.50]. Second selections won three more - and top picks finished second in a couple of races - but close doesn't count.

Otherwise: A B-A-C finish in R2 for the exacta [$56.50/$2] and tri [$175.50]. And a $38.00 C-A exacta in R8. A few other gimmicks for those that played around - but Thursday simply wasn't much of a day.

11,750 attended. Warm and sunny.

Today

Party at the Spa: 2:30pm post time. The fun will continue after the races at Saratoga hot spot, The Post, adjacent to the Paddock. The after-hours party will feature a mix of food, drinks, and live music from the band Two Tenors of Rock.

RACE ONE
Mrs Bean...Worked 10.0 before 2YO sale. Sib Law Enforcement won debut and followed up with a stakes win. This one makes first start without Lasix.
My Happy Face...Preferred half of the entry off of the decent try last time.
Yankeeindixieland...Some win-early breeding and a trainer that can have them ready.
Wild One.

RACE TWO
Purest Form...Tossed in a little bit of a dud last time - but prior efforts were good enough. Dominguez rides.
Hobbs/Never on Time...Hobbs preferred after winning a somewhat similar race last time.
Cantonic...Riding a 3-race win-streak.
Volcano Run.

RACE THREE
Mildly Offensive...Formerly SoCal-based stakes performer goes first-time Pletcher off of a bullet work.
Strike the Moon... Nice win over the track last time - also sports a bullet in prep for this.
Tiz the Argument...Would be the one to beat if able to recapture that 90-Beyer form from the end of last year.
Kid Kate.

RACE FOUR
Hitechnoweenie...Has some win-early breeding with a couple of first-out winning sibs.
Smittenwithkitten/Win for Kitten...SmittenwithKitten preferred off of an OK debut - although the winner came back to falter as the fave on Wednesday. Firster Win for Kitten could prove interesting if in from the AEs.
Oscar Party...AE. Improved stretching on the grass.
Sustained...Comes out of a salty MSW dirt sprint.
Sensatonalize.
Giant's Jewel.

RACE FIVE
Yankee Fourtune...Drops off the claim.
Liston...First off the claim for Asmussen. Dominguez rides.
Surprise Strike...Last couple were at PID. And finds some class relief today.
King Ting.
Writingonthewall.

RACE SIX
Everydoghashisday...AE. Just missed in similar last time.
Huge Asset...Has some nature and nuture at work - but must overcome the inside post.
Goodtolook...Back fairly quickly off of an OK debut effort.
Noosh's Tale.
Pie's First Lady.

RACE SEVEN
Joking...Seemed to get some good experience out of the debut. Tough if able to improve second time out and on the stretchout.
Tiz Yankee...Will try to take them all the way.
Cape Glory...Just missed last time. Adds blinkers today.
Conspiracy.

RACE EIGHT - $100K Riskaverse
Angel Terrace...Will need to step it up but Sheppard runner looks capable of doing that.
Dayattthespa...Brown stakes winner is certainly the one to beat.
Alaura Michele...Dual-stakes winner here.
Resonating.
Assateague.

RACE NINE
Into the Fray...First off the claim for Rudy. Comes out of an OK second in a similar race.
Partly Mocha...Back in for a tag.
Synthesizer...Moves NY-bred alw to open claimer.
Bravo Habibi.
Basalt.

If we are interested in both halves of an entry -- in event of a scratch -- it is noted that way [in other words, both halves are named]. If only one-half of the entry is named, then we prefer that half and will move to our next pick listed [rather than the other half of the entry] in event of a scratch.
