Don't forget to check out the Challenge page where we started the month with a mythical $1200 bankroll and attempt to increase that amount as the Saratoga season continues.

Yesterday

4-10. Winners in the 4th [$16.20], 5th [$9.10], 7th [$5.70], 8th [$4.10]. Cld exacta in the 4th [$54.50/$2]. An A-D exacta in the the 5th [$117.50] with two move-up picks after the surface change. And two or three more opportunities were out there playing around with the selections.

A crowd of 16,935 turned out. Weather-wise it was a little bit freaky with sun and rain competing for dominance early. A shower early in the card knocked all but R1 off the grass.

Today

Ron Turcotte Autograph Signing: Hall of Fame jockey Ron Turcotte will host an autograph signing in front of the Jockey Silks Room on both Saturday and Sunday from 11am - 5pm. All proceeds will benefit The Secretariat Foundation.

FIRST RACE
Zeenut...In from out-of-town and should fit with this bunch.
Bakin' With Cindy...Ran well vs better last time. Also a good fit here.
Market Princess...Better than latest.
La Billos.
Skips Prospect.
Zeenut, La Billos, Market Princess, Private Councel, Proud Siren, Audington.

SECOND RACE
Brickyard Kitten...Win-early sire and trainer can have them ready. In off of some good works in Ky.
Newfound Zapper...Improved nicely with the stretchout on the grass. Blinkers off today.
Bernie the Jet...Showed speed on the stretchout last time. Might last longer today.
Elmutahid.
Chuckle.
On dirt: Same plus Transparent, Pagets, Indy's Illusion.

THIRD RACE
Bayshore Blaze...His latest was probably good enough - but this is a tepid nod in a weak field.
Centrique...Has some numbers that look good enough - but flopped in last NYRA dirt start.
Argument's Sake...Lightly-raced. Might still have some upside and could appreciate return to the main track.
Theatre Queen.

FOURTH RACE
Read the Proposal...Expensive NY-bred purchase from Klaravich. Worked 10.1 before sale.
Drivenbychocolate...Well-bred and win-early connections - will have to overcome inside post in debut.
Night Editor...Trainer can have them ready.
Sunlover.
Flattermewithroses.

FIFTH RACE
Geantor...Showed some nice improvement in the second start. Might be even better with a clean break.
Pure Nature...Solid try off of a short layoff. Blinkers on today.
Spider Fan...Might prove interesting if he takes to dirt.
Keyaly.

SIXTH RACE
Archwarrior...Pletcher trainee worked 10.2 before 2YO auction - but recent bullet works are even more impressive.
Rugged...Sure produces early winners - dam, not so much. But trainer can have them ready.
Hotter N Blazes...Win-early trainer.
Air Squadron.

SEVENTH RACE
Half Lucky...Better than last and could be primed to show it with move into conditional clmr.
Turn Up the Music...Has some back numbers and, like the top pick, might rebound to those against this bunch.
Mr E Philip...Figured it out last time.
To Dubai.
On dirt: Half Lucky, Grand Contender, Nick Rules, Leroidessioux, To Dubai, Tiny Predicament, Freedom Writer.

EIGHTH RACE
Marine...Seems shopping for the win on the drop.
Seminole County...Improved with the move to this level.

Teahupoo.
Silver Endurance.
Induce.

NINTH RACE
Overcommunication...Looks best on the drop.
Bomber Boy...Ran well vs better last two.
Talented Whiz...Another dropping - this one for the nation's top owner.
Shankopotamus.

TENTH RACE
Quantity...Solid claim three back by crafty owner. In good form since.
Change of Command...Has speed but might have competition.
Major Gain...Good number in lone turf try.
Mia Poppy.
On dirt: Quantity, Majestic Hope, Thunder Chief, Green Monster, Hoist, Charlie's quest, Major Gain, Irish Lion.

ELEVENTH RACE
Wise Dan...One of the year's top handicap horses - and the recent bullet says surface switch should be no problem.
Guy Reward...In good form.
Data Link...Has gone well over past two seasons.
Corporate Jungle.
Get Stormy.
On dirt: Wise Dan, Crossbow, Guys Reward, Yield Bogey, Corporate Jungle.

If we are interested in both halves of an entry -- in event of a scratch -- it is noted that way [in other words, both halves are named]. If only one-half of the entry is named, then we prefer that half and will move to our next pick listed [rather than the other half of the entry] in event of a scratch.
