2-10. Winners in the 2nd [$2.90] and 8th [$6.90]. Reverse exacta in the opener [$31.40/$2] and top four boxed for gimmicks in the 3rd.

Who needs handicapping? Bet Ramon! Dominguez was on fire - winning six of his seven on the days, taking an early lead in the jocks race with nine wins total through the first 31 races of the meet. Five jocks sit tied in the second spot with three wins each.

A solid crowd of 18,425 was reported - although there was plenty of elbow-room all day long. The weather was pleasant - hot if you stood in the sun, and there was plenty of that.

There was the typically good turnout for the annual hat contest. Downtown was crowded well after dark with people strolling on the warm summer evening. And a slight sprinkly passed through the area late.

A Conversation with Tom Durkin: Community members are invited to meet "the voice of NYRA" during a conversation with race track announcer Tom Durkin. Sports journalist Mike Kane will lead the discussion, which will focus on Durkin’s 20-plus years in the business. The event begins at 7pm at the Saratoga Springs Public Library and is free and open to the public.

Bravo Habibi...Might appreciate the class-drop for Asmussen/Zayat.
Black Rhino...Showed promise as a 2YO. Now in from two turf sprints at CD for Ward.
Shotinthefog...Slight drop off of the latest - should be properly spotted here.
Tightend Touchdown.

Carson Hall...Should be a good fit here.
Safety Valve...Another that might appreciate this modest step down.
Glowing Praise... Clear class edge - IF able to come back in form off of the long layoff.

Lady Rizzi...Linda Rice in a turf sprint. This one is 2-for-3 over the track.
Eden Is Burning...A couple of just-miss efforts in latest.
High Cry...Ness and Midwest Thoroughbreds invade NY.
Strategic Missile.

Change of Command...Early speed. Cutback. And Dominguez!
Fizzano...Typically in the hunt.
Majestic Raffy...Last seems to indicate good form now.
Green Monster.

Aventurine...Big Brown of to an interesting start as a sire. This one has a sib True Blue Jake that took eight to win but was second in its second career start (behind a 3-5 fave).
Da Mi Basia Mille...Sib Pure Amour took five to win - but won on grass.
Citizen Emma...And more breeding that indicates some potential to be live.

Party of Interest...Might have found a home on dirt.
Hard Life...Dutrow, Dominguez and a nice bullet work.
Ginger Snapit...Solid in the latest.

Polan...Worked 101.1 before 2YO sale.
Weekend Hideaway...Perhaps more nature than nuture - with Speightstown on top, but trainer not known to fire early.
Waterway...Showed speed in debut.
Soul House.

Drill Sargeant...In from CD for top connections.
Tiz Yankee...The one to catch?
Invocation...Last was best yet.
Escape Artist.
Flashy Sunrise.

NINTH RACE $100K Shipman
Fiddlers Afleet...Solid win last time when facing NY-breds.
Johannesburg Smile...Hits the exacta more often than not.
Sailmate...Undefeated in two this season.
Lunar Victory.

Into the Fray...Shopping for a "W" on th drop?
Vee's Accolade...Moves in for a tag.
Grand Contender...Slight move downward on the trip from CD.
Say Mr Sandman.

If we are interested in both halves of an entry -- in event of a scratch -- it is noted that way [in other words, both halves are named]. If only one-half of the entry is named, then we prefer that half and will move to our next pick listed [rather than the other half of the entry] in event of a scratch.
