Yesterday

2-10. Winners in the 4th [$6.60] and 6th [$5.50]. Otherwise very little to crow about on a rough day. In the 1st, third selection over top pick for the exacta [$31.20/$2]. Cold exacta in the 4th [$21.60]. In the 8th it was second selection over third picks for the exacta [$15.00] with the top pick completing the tri [$27.20].

16,601 attended and enjoyed a sunny and comfortable - albeit breezy - afternoon.

Today

FIRST RACE - G1 $100K National Turf Writers Hcp
Sheppard 2b entry...Divine Fortune won the AP Smithwick here last summer, and followed with a fourth as the favorite in this race. Meanwhile, entrymate Ser,on of Love is the defending champ of this race.
Decoy Daddy...Toss the frist try in this country and his US record is very good.
Sheppard 1a entry...Sweet Shani preferred. 11YO has hit the exacta [or the non-betting equivalent] in half of her jump starts.
Dynaski.

SECOND RACE
Dattts Appealing...By Successful Appeal she should win sooner rather than later. Might be primed off the layoff - but dicey propsition with the ice-cold-at-the-meet trainer.
Zero Yield...Debut wasn't bad - despite trouble. Now moves in for a tag and goes turf-to-dirt.
Thunder Lilly...Also going turf-to-dirt and eligible to run well.
Skiddles n' Bob.

THIRD RACE
Barbados Beauty... Second time out for Asmussen - a potent angle.
Krissy Kat...Tale of the Cat on top and worked 10.2 before 2YO sale.
Alydarla...Ambitiously-placed in debut. High speed last time when more reasonably spotted. Cuts back in distance.
Holiday Broad.
Stay Composed.

FOURTH RACE
Fire With Fire...Big maiden-breaker last time could signal good form and ability to blow through this first condition.
Nine O Wonderful...Drops back into proper condition and sports a bullet work.
Missinglisalewis...Only the second start of the season but was in the hunt more often than not in 2010.
Bakhoor.
On dirt: Global Power, Fire With Fire, Rein King, Sam Sparkle, Irish Lion, Bakhoor.

FIFTH RACE
Cinder Cone...Pace play - could be the one to catch.
Metrology...Drops in second start off the claim and might be properly spotted here.
Smart Enuf...Also looks to fit with this bunch.
Awesome Review.

SIXTH RACE
Lindell AC...Moves up first off the claim for Asmussen/Moss - but should fit well here.
Tell Grant...Also moves up off the claim but should go well with these.
Gunman...Big closing kick.
Bundestag.
On dirt: Same plus, Allen;s Star, Angel's Sea, Exchanging Memories, Mr Popps.

SEVENTH RACE
Le Grand Fromage...Ben chasing this gal through scratches for a couple of weeks now. Not that she's anything special - but there's a little bit of breeding and she's a 'fresh face' in a field with multiple time 'non-winners'. BUT, this $110K yearling purchase debuts for $25K.
Pleasant Heiress...Turf sprinting is kind of a specialty so there's no guarantee she'll be as potent speed-wise in here -- but if she does get clear she could be tough to run down.
Margo Verge...Ran well in a similar race last time.
Hopeoverexperience.
On dirt: Same plus, Patine, Justleavemealone.

EIGHTH RACE
The Man Uptown...Lifetime best Beyer win off of a two month layoff last time. Faces better today but might benefit from that wake-up call.
J Isle...Could be the speed.
Kid Curry...Should be rolling late.
Argentine Talisman.
On dirt: Sensational Slam, Bert B Don, David the Great, Cat SWeep, Argentine Talisman, The Man Uptown, Z Appeal.

NINTH RACE
Petey Cramer...Broke maiden two back -- and then got some experience against winners last time. Should be finding some class relief here.
Flying Z entry...Strictly Society expected to be tough with return to gtrass.
Structural Change...Solid in first off the layoff.
Tennis Racket.
No La Hace.
On dirt: Same plus Lubango.

If we are interested in both halves of an entry -- in event of a scratch -- it is noted that way [in other words, both halves are named]. If only one-half of the entry is named, then we prefer that half and will move to our next pick listed [rather than the other half of the entry] in event of a scratch.
