Yesterday

5-10. On the Capital OTB-TV Handicappers Report on Wednesday morning I labelled the afternoon card a skullbuster with a number of races that seemed wide open. Hmmm. It was completely formful and our best day yet.

Winners in the 1st [$5.50], 3rd [$7.40], 6th [$4.00], 8th [$4.50] and 9th [$3.60]. Four cold exactas [3rd, $17.60/$2; 6th, $11.60; 8th, $15.00; 9th, $18.60]. Cold tri in the 9th [$32.40]. Reverse exacta in the 5th [$18.40]. Plus various other Picks and gimmicks with a little mixing up of the picks.

19,074 attended and enjoyed a great afternoon weather-wise -- sunny and comfortable.

Today

FIRST RACE
Port Morsbey...Sheppard/Augustin runner has raced well over the jumps. Comes out of a decent try on the flat.
Be Certain...Expect improvement in the second start back for Voss.
Parker's Project...Another Sheppard jumper - ran well here last year.
Baltic Shore.

SECOND RACE - Walsh $70K
Sheppard entry....Both halves look capable of running well today.
Demonstrative...Might appreciate the added distance.
All Together...Won early in the meet - beating some of these.
Mr Hot Stuff.

THIRD RACE
Launch N Relaunch...If you're a Beyer fig believer this one stands out.
Gospel Lesson...Looks like a good fit with this bunch.
Settle for Medal...Dangerous on the class relief.
Cardsontablefaceup.

FOURTH RACE
Stud Muffin...Won similar race last time. Why not?
Coljak...Class dropper.
JL Bernstein...Won last - on turf, but has run well on dirt.
Sheraguska.

FIFTH RACE
Resoundingly...Looks best on the numbers - but iffy on the inability to get it done. Hmmm.
Bretton Woods...On the other hand - this one is riding a two-race win-streak.
Indian Tale...If she goes it will be her fourth race in eleven days - strike while the iron is hot?
System Ready.
Speedy's Gal.
On dirt: Celebrity Sighting, Indian Tale, Siggi the Alien, Jonathan's Girl, Ouchy Night.

SIXTH RACE
Keechi Bullet...Dud in last but two-month layoff, drop in class and return to dirt could provide a rebound.
My Man Marty...Solid win in seasonal debut.
Hopeful Boy...THe one to catch?
Papa Bear.

SEVENTH RACE
Monzante...7YO G1 winner takes another step down the claiming ladder.
Good Prospect...First off the claim for Chad Brown and also could have a class-edge on most in here.
Red Leader...Won this exact race last time - but since that race was moved off the turf he didn't become ineligible.
Smart Enuf.
On dirt: Jimanator, Red Leader, Show Trial, Monzante, Smart Enuf.

EIGHTH RACE
Free Brave...A competitive turf sprinter that should be even more so with the drop.
Tahoe Warrior...A turf sprint stake winner last summer in Florida - could be set to go well in second start back.
Retire to What...Speed.
Sly.
On dirt: Hero Figure, WWs Lady's Man, Free Brave, Ziptronic, Morality.

NINTH RACE - West Point $100K
Icabad Crane...Wild closing move to win dirt stake here early in the meet - and will speed to shoot at here. Ran third in this race last year.
Compliance Officer...Should stalk and get first jump. Interesting stretching off of the two sprints.
Writingonthewall...The one to catch - but there is plenty of other speed in here.
Straight Story.
On dirt: Icabad Crane, Slevin, Ruffino, Writingonthewall.

TENTH RACE
Le Grand Fromage...AE list. 'Fresh face' in a field that have had chances. There's a little bit of breeding intrigue here. On the other hand, they paid $110K and debut for $25K -- but she won't find a much softer group.
Singmeasong...Seems on the improve and ran best yet when dropped to this level.
Simsational...Finished a smidge ahead of Singmeasong last time.
A La Moda.
Plastique.
Free On Legs.
On dirt: Same plus, Patine.

If we are interested in both halves of an entry -- in event of a scratch -- it is noted that way [in other words, both halves are named]. If only one-half of the entry is named, then we prefer that half and will move to our next pick listed [rather than the other half of the entry] in event of a scratch.
