Don't forget to check out the Challenge page where we started the month with a mythical $1000 bankroll and attempt to increase that amount as the Saratoga season continues.

Yesterday

1-9. Winner in the 3rd [$4.30]. Otherwise, not a whole lot to crow about - unless you were willing to dip three-deep in exacta as we had a couple where our third selection top exactas over our top pick [2nd, $96.50/$2; 7th, $57.00].

18,300 attended on a day that featured comfortable temps and overcasrt skies. There was some drizzle early on -- and by the 6th race post time were being moved up slightly on the prediction on incoming weather. Sure enough, shortly before the 8th the skies opened up and it poured. The rain continued through the nightcap but shortly after the horses cross the finish line the precip let up and people were able to stay dry on the walk to the car - and wherever they were headed after that for post-track fun.

Today

Jockey 'beefcake' calendar signing. 10:30 - 11:30am outside of the jocks' room. Proceeds benefit the Permanently Disabled Jockeys Fund.

The Jim Dandy and Diana will be shown on VERSUS from 5-6pm ET, marking the second of eight Summer at Saratoga programs broadcast nationally by the NBC Sports Group.

FIRST RACE
La Reine Lionne...Beaten fave last time didn't seem to appreciate being on the lead that day. Looks like a couple of others in here can provide some pace today.
Sing My Song...Likely to be heard from late.
Zapparition...Ran well here last summer and she's a contender moving back to turf.
Exclusive Love.
On dirt: Vivo Per Lei, Zapparition, Exclusive Love, Hit It Rich.

SECOND RACE
Stealcase...The late Lawyer Ron is off to an OK start with his debut runners. This one worked 10.0 before the 2YO sale. Sib Bella Palooza was a first-out winner at HOL last year.
Officer Prado...Wouldn't be a surprise to see this one run well in second start for Asmussen.
Invocation...Worked in 10.2 before selling for a quarter of a mil.
Giant Surprise THIRD RACE
Malibu Glow...Should appreciate the move into alw company.
Jack London...Could be the one to catch.
Gallant Dreams...Might be interesting if able to get a dry track.
Sam Sparkle.

FOURTH RACE
Sebago Bay...The breeding attracts some interest. Debut last year was OK. Now working well for return and moving MSW to mdn clm'r.
Stonemill...The speed last time might indicate he's ready to pop.
Ambassador Bridge...Off awhile but should fit with these if ready.
With a Cape.

FIFTH RACE
Radical Sabbatical...Off almost a year - so that's a concern, but has a class-edge here if ready.
Monument Hill...Third in a MTH stake last time. First time in for a tag.
Alyarf...Faced the likes of Delegator across the pond. No such foes here.
Gimme Credit.
Regal Warrior.
On dirt: Slevin, Regal Warrior, Hammock, El Caballo.

SIXTH RACE
Saturday Classic...Worked 10.2 before sale. Sib Approval Rating won debut.
Colbert...Just-miss debut.
Captain Webb...Could be ready to go in first try.
Tiz a Homerun.
On dirt: Same plus Speightscity, Street Fight.

SEVENTH RACE
Dark Thunder...Solid as a 4YO.
Spirit of Cochise...Led and wound up second in a simialr event last time.
Tahitian Warrior...Nice win here last year - but has yet to approach those numbers this season.
Despite the Odds.
China.

EIGHTH RACE - Hattie Moseley $75K
Starformer...Euro-tranplant first-off-the-plane for Juddmonte/Mott.
Ruthenia...Overmatched in a G3 vs Winter Memories two back - but fits with these.
Niji's Grand Girl...Likely to make a late run.
Ms Silver Oak.

NINTH RACE - Diana G1 $500K
Dyna Waltz...Sheppard/Augustin. Connections we always expect to be ready tp upset at Saratoga.
Aruna...Done little wrong since arriving from France.
Aviate...Beaten fave last time but expect a rebound today.
Romacaca.
Unbridled Humor.

TENTH RACE - Jim Dandy G2 $500K
Dominus...Showing some talent in first four starts. Could be tough if able to sneak away early.
Alternation...Poor start in G1 Ark Derby compromised chances - but hard to knock the record otherwise.
Stay Thirsty...Ran well here last year and has been facing the best since.
Brilliant Speed.

ELEVENTH RACE
Free Brave...A bona fide turf sprinter taking another step down the claiming ladder.
In Just We Trust...Speedy - the question mark is turf.
Scorper...Returns to turf - which is probably his preferred surface.
Sumfun.
Sly.
On dirt: My Golden opinion, In Just We Trust, Hero Figure, Scorch the Torch, Free Brave.

If we are interested in both halves of an entry -- in event of a scratch -- it is noted that way [in other words, both halves are named]. If only one-half of the entry is named, then we prefer that half and will move to our next pick listed [rather than the other half of the entry] in event of a scratch.
