A very good day to end the month of April thanks to the Churchill Race 6 exacta in the Best Bets section [$226.80/$2] and the San Fran Mile stakes gimmicks down below [ex $382.20/$2, tri $1561.60/$2].

But there were a couple of regrets along the way...

Just couldn't pull the trigger on a straight WP Best Bets play on 29-1 winner Senacher in the Churchill 6th. Looked and looked and debated and debated, but eventually shied away from that call. Thankfully the exacta play in that race came through to mitigate any lasting regret.

And we just didn't foresee the odds and exacta payoffs in that 1st at Tampa. So we didn't exacta box up the three as a Best Bet, settling to use them only in a double play. It stung then when our three ran 1-2-3 in the race and came back with a generous $42.00/$2 exacta - and then our single in the 2nd ran 4th. Doh!

Happily in both races - with the benefit of being able to see the live odds we were able to capitalize live on both the Churchill 6th WPS and the Tampa 1st exacta. Hopefully you did the same!

Christmas for Liam...Lightly-raced Pletcher 4YO comes out of two good wins going a one-turn mile at GP. Should be set for this assignment.
Soaring Empire...Already a graded stakes winner.
Haynesfield...Super-talented NY-bred will be tough if ready off the layoff.

Successful Mission...Could be primed for this in third start back.
Voodoo Swinge...Also third start back and also look ready to pop.
Jackson Bend...Showed some hints of promise early in the career. Untested on grass.

Travelin Man...Lightly-raced and improving?
JJs Lucky Train...Seven times in the exacta in eight lifetime starts - including two stakes wins.
Indiano...Always like to sit back and watch one or two from these S American imports - but this guy has done OK in two stateside races.

Talktoomuch...Tries stakes company but looks capable on best.
Lilly Fa Pootz...Meanwhile this one has had a steady diet of stakes outings - but hasn't been in the winner's circle since last summer.
Well Monied...Comes off a long layoff - but yet another that wouldn't be a surprise in a competitive field.
