Don't forget to check out the Challenge page where we started the month with a mythical $1000 bankroll and attempt to increase that amount as the Saratoga season continues.

Yesterday

2-9. Winners in the 1st [$3.70] and 4th [$3.90]. Also, a cold exacta in the 1st [$22.00/$2]. In the 2nd it was third over top pick for the exacta [$27.40]. A little more on the card with the second and third selections.

23,777 attended and it might have been the first day of the meet with some real 'Saratoga buzz' throughout the plant. It was College Day and the crowd trended young. A gorgeous warm, sunny day and the twilight card late-start seemed to help create a fun atmosphere. The last race went off at about 7pm and plenty of folks were still sitting in the backyard picnic area enjoying the evening nearly an hour later.

Today

FIRST RACE
You Go West Girl...Top three all look capable. Slight edge to this one hoping shge recaptures top form in third start of 2010.
Chestoria...Best the top pick two back. In good form.
Akilina...Has only missed the tri once in ten turf tries.
Our Golden Dream.

SECOND RACE
Bakhoor...Well-bred runner from Darley was purchased as a yearling for $1.2mil. Related to a couple of Euro stakes winners so we have to wonder if he'd be better on turf -- but just missed in the debut and this is no field of world-beaters.
Medal Round...Improving Beyers and stretches to two turns in third start back.
Loquacious...Interesting. Fired a career best Beyer at Gulfstream then regressed at Belmont. Might prefer the Saratoga layout.
Magaholz.

THIRD RACE
Miss Hanky Panky...A Linda Rice turf sprinter.
Wonderboy Roy...Solid debut from a trainer that has them ready early. Moves MSW to mdn cml'r.
King Prada...Could appreciate the cutback to 7F.
Peytons Heart.
Unforgettable PJ.

FOURTH RACE
Jim's Applemartini...Yeesh - can't love the outside post, but the near-miss last time seems to indicate he has more talent than most in here. Dominguez rides.
Ducale...A repeat of the Finger Lakes race from two back would probably take this.
Ambassador Bridge...Drops to lowest level yet and might have found his comfort zone.
Chuckie's Honor.

FIFTH RACE
Caberneigh...In the hunt more often than not and should get a decent pace to stalk.
En Fuego...Looks to be an improving 4YO and will be rolling late.
Rescue Squad...Knocked heads with some of the better 3YO grass runners last year and 2010 debut was OK.
Thabazimbi.

SIXTH RACE
Rush Now...Expensive weanling purchase shows some OK works. Tiznow can get some precocious runners.
Arthur's Tale...$750K yearling has some OK breeding.
Volcker...Pletcher runner has some OK experience.
Astrology.

SEVENTH RACE
Spicer...Could be interesting stretching to two turns.
Morning Line...Nice improving Beyers and could be the one to catch.
Raven Hawk...Won on a DQ so has yet to cross the line first. Probably needs to step it up a little but should have some upside to work with.
Two Brash.

EIGHTH RACE
Chingachgook...Been showing some signs of life and the numbers give him a slight edge.
The Noz...Solid try in debut despite trouble.
Solutionfinders...AE list. Third start of 2010 and will be heard from late.
Roaring conquest.
Felice Di Notte.

NINTH RACE - Diana G1 $500K
Forever Together...Goes for the 3-peat in this event. Yet to win this year but both tries were solid.
Proviso...Won a G1 against the boys two back. The real deal.
Phola...Solid in the three stakes tries this season.
Shared Account.

TENTH RACE - Jim Dandy G2 $500K
A Little Warm...Impressed winning a tough little mid-week race at Delaware in the comeback.
Afleet Express...Seems to have returned from layoff as an improved 3YO.
Fly Down...Experience counts and this guy has already down well in the 3YO stakes division.
Friend or foe.

ELEVENTH RACE
British Banker...Trainer is hot and this one seems to be placed aggressively.
Cozy Lion...AE list. Also dropping to a cozy level.
Dr Alex...In his comfort zone.
Morethan Fourhours.
Chromosphere.

If we are interested in both halves of an entry -- in event of a scratch -- it is noted that way [in other words, both halves are named]. If only one-half of the entry is named, then we prefer that half and will move to our next pick listed [rather than the other half of the entry] in event of a scratch.
