Yesterday

1-9. Winner in the 2nd [$8.20]. Also, third over second over top picks in the 1st for the exacta [$31.60] and tri [$81.50]. Second and third picks combined for the exacta in the 6th [$23.40].

16,325 attended -- although it seemed like a larger crowd. Another nice day -- that melted into evening with the twilight card wrapping up at sunset. The party-centric crowd then piled into the neighboring watering holes at Siro's and the Horseshoe and the fun kept rolling until well after dark -- in fact, Party in the Park band music was still heard wafting out of the racecourse after 9pm!

Today

FIRST RACE
Americanrevolution...Might be the speed of the speed. Whistled at Calder when last spotted at this particular level.
Check It Twice...Hasn't missed a triple finish in his career. Might pick up the pieces if the speed falters.
Kaper Lake...Another likely to be rolling late. Red-hot trainer and a snug fit with this bunch.
Base Commander.

SECOND RACE
In Just We Trust...Debuted in an off-the-turf event -- but note that he was an MTO. Looks like a debut to build from.
Keeneland Breeze...$1.5mil yearling buy from Shadwell/McLaughlin. Wouldn't be a shock to see him live first-out.
Callide Valley...Expect improvement.
El Primero.

THIRD RACE
Gold d'Oro...Hmmm, could be developing bridesmaid syndrome but certainly looks capable of winning on her best effort.br> Etincelle...Improved nicely in second start whgen stretched around two turns. A repeat, or further improvement, puts her right there.
Catigo...Should benefit from the first start of the season.
Toocleverforwords.

FOURTH RACE - Peerless Springs $70K
Ms Stilleto...Looks like an improved 3YO. Turf Beyers on a nice steady imrpovement pattern.
Exclusive Scheme...Lifetime best Beyer on this track in latest.
Our Golden Dream...Decent try despite trouble vs open company -- now back in with state-breds.
Karakorum Fugitive.

FIFTH RACE
King Kitten...Stretching out after two sprints. First turf and the sire makes that interesting.
Billions Boy...Also stretching off of two sprints. AE list.
Chairman Now...Nice improvement in start #2. AE list.
Buffalo Runner.
Stately Victor.
Hybrid.

SIXTH RACE
Sawtooth Mountain...$1mil yearling purchase faced the likes of Sea The Stars last year. Didn't show much on this side of the Atlantic -- but drops steeply today.
Auteur...Also drops and might rebound to Beyers figs fired prior to last start -- which are good enough here.
New Yawker...Will be rolling late.
White Holiday.

SEVENTH RACE
City Wolf...Some monster breeding -- this one is a half to City Zip and Ghostzapper.
Hockley...Two nice improving efforts.
Rule...OK debut -- improvement wouldn't be out of the question today.
Gun Rock.

EIGHTH RACE
Jet Set Vinny...Could get overlooked coming out of a claiming win -- but wouldn't be surprised to see him repeat.
Mesa Sunrise...Might appreciate the return to dirt.
Antitrust...Seems to have figured it out.
Map of the World.

NINTH RACE - Forego G1 $300K
Peace Chant...SoCal sprinters often seem to do well when shipped east.
Kodiak Kowboy...Logically theo ne to beat based on Beyers.
Gold Trippi...Nice win in a small stake this track and trip on 7/29.
Law Enforcement.

TENTH RACE - Woodward G1 $750K
Macho Again...Second-place finish in G1 Whitney might have him primed for a big effort.
Rachel Alexandra...Clearly the one to beat based on the figs -- but it's still a tall order for a 3YO filly to beat older males in late summer.
Bullsbay...Can't ignore the G1 win this track and trip a few weeks ago.
It's a Bird.

ELEVENTH RACE
Extra Zip...Could have the edge on this bunch -- but we're hoping for the stalking trip option today.
Andiron...Freaked when moved to grass. AE list.
Good Prospect/Sigmondo...Linda Rice -- 'nuff said.
North Country.
Evolutionist.
Ground Frost.
Warn.

If we are interested in both halves of an entry -- in event of a scratch -- it is noted that way [in other words, both halves are named]. If only one-half of the entry is named, then we prefer that half and will move to our next pick listed [rather than the other half of the entry] in event of a scratch.
