Yesterday

2-10. Winners in the 4th [$9.10] and 9th [$4.80]. Also, thirds pick over top selection for the $38.80/$2 exacta in the 1st. Our third choice rounded out the $128.00 tri. Third over top again in the 2nd race exacta [$64.00; quinella $43.20]. Cold exacta in the 4th [$29.20] and our fourth pick completed the tri [$125.00], Third pick over top selection over thid choice in the 6th for the exacta [$48.80] and tri [$123.50].

11,809 attended on another lazy-attitude kind of day. With the smaller crowds the afternoon has a very lad-back feeling to it -- but it was another nice day to enjoy the track with sunshine and comfortable temps in the 70s.

Our chase to reach 100 winners-on-top is becoming more desperate. We entered the week needing to average three winners per day -- instead we grabbed two each afternoon. That leaves us fourteen shy of the mark with four days remaining. We need a break-out day or two with five or six winners to get us right.

Thursday was a little disappointing however in that we just missed in the jump opener with top pick Dynaski. We ran second with another top pick -- at a price, 21-1 Rock Star Royalty in the 2nd. Second again with our top pick in the 3rd, the 6th, and the 10th. Doh!

Today

Twilight post time: 2:30pm ET. There is a massive $656K P6 carryover.

We felt yesterday was a diffifcult card that wasn't going to help in our 3-win-a-day quest -- and today looks eerily similar.

FIRST RACE
Mother Ruth...Lightly-raced Baffert filly has Beyers moving in the right direction.
Paracaidas/Life At Ten...Both halves of Pletcher entry look capable but Life At Ten might be more talented -- although she's been chase win $2 for a few starts.
Acronym...Might come back improved off the layoff.
AP Elegance.

SECOND RACE
Justin...Asmussen maiden by Speightstown eligible to wake-up with the class-relief.
Dixie Frolic...Pletcher 3YO was bought at auction last year for $400K. Flopped in MSW debut. Goes for $50K today. Like top pick -- that might be enough for the wake-up.
Wanted Alive...Another dropping in from MSW company.
Futuristic.

THIRD RACE - With Anticipation $100K
Paddy O'Prado...Showed nice improvement and just-missed with move to turf.
Strike the Tiger...Ward trainee is already a multiple stakes-winner -- including one a Royal Ascot.
Red Rally...Best career race was the maiden-breaker on grass -- so should appreciate the return to that surface.
Jung Man Scott.
Zapster.
Mississipi Hippie.

FOURTH RACE
Bernie's Pal...Linda Rice firster by precocious sire Hook and Ladder.
On the Beat...We always like young runners by Officer.
Australis Princess...Caught late last time -- cuts back a furlong today.
Positive Pitch.

FIFTH RACE
Valtrus...Clunked last time -- but expect a rebound to better form with the class-relief.
Classic Campaign..Hasn't shown much at this level in last couple at Monmouth -- but expect he's better than those.
Ballast...Claimed out of a just-miss effort and moves up -- but should fit here.
Optimer.
Tiger Woodman.

SIXTH RACE
Pearl River...Firster by Successful Appeal. Typically we think of those as more sprint-meant -- but Zilva [Successful Appeal - Spellmaker] got it done going two turns on grass on Wednesday.
Gitchee Goomie/In Te Domine......Both of the Rice firsters have some interesting breeding.
Cuvee's Lady/Bretton Woods...Weaver entry looks capable of being heard from in here.
Poppy Day.

SEVENTH RACE - Voodoo Dancer $80K
Belle Allure...Suspect she's better than her US record has shown thus far.
Colina Verde...Should find this spot easier than graded-company she's been facing recently.
My Baby Baby...Nice just-miss effort here on 8/5.
Indescribable.

EIGHTH RACE
For Free...Could be interesting with the return to turf.
Throughly Holly...could be finding some class-relief here.
Iberian Gate...Another dropping to lowest level of carrer.
Sweet Madness.
Linsalata.

NINTH RACE
Quiet On the Tee...Leaning here slightly in what looks like a wide-open affair. Beyers probably need to bump up slightly but this one is lightly-raced and should still have some upside. Dominguez onboard.
Fairway Drive...Fits this level.
Tobruk...Tow good tries already at the meet.
Gold Pageantry.
Relatively Ready.
Pegasian.

If we are interested in both halves of an entry -- in event of a scratch -- it is noted that way [in other words, both halves are named]. If only one-half of the entry is named, then we prefer that half and will move to our next pick listed [rather than the other half of the entry] in event of a scratch.
