Yesterday

4-9. Winners in the 1st [$3.80], 3rd [$2.70], 5th [$3.10], 6th [$7.80]. Also, cold exacta in the 1st [$13.60/$2]. In the 3rd, top selection over third and second picks for the exacta [$5.50] and tri [$8.00].

13,680 attended. A partly cloudy afternoon -- with plenty of sunshine breaking through.

We ventured over to the jockeys softball game after finishing up our guest-host gig on Sirius satellite's At The Races. Typically the event is a charity affair played against a team of local state troopers, and it's held at the East Ave Rec field a few blocks form the track.. This year's game however was jocks vs agents and it was held at the more obscure Weibel Ave field. In past years the game has attracted a fairly decent number of fans. This year's event however was completely under the radar and that was reflected in the turnout -- which numbered in the low dozens. Still, a fun night for those that did attend with John Velazquez and his agent Angel Cordero squaring off as opposing pitchers. The jocks had Rajiv Maragh catching and Mike Luzzi on first base. Javier Castellano was also spotted among the jocks team. Ken Desormeaux's agent Mike Sellitto provided some offensive firepower for the agents. We left before the last at-bat was completed [mosquito attack!], but the agents were in the midst of a real rally -- while trailing 15-10.

If we are interested in both halves of an entry -- in event of a scratch -- it is noted that way [in other words, both halves are named]. If only one-half of the entry is named, then we prefer that half and will move to our next pick listed [rather than the other half of the entry] in event of a scratch.
