Yesterday

Winners in the 3rd [$23.20] and 9th [$15.40]. Top three boxed in the 1st brought back the exacta [$36.20$2] and tri [$91.00]. Similar scenario in the 6th [$20.80, $43.60].

16,183 attended what could have been the best day of the meet so far weather-wise. Sunny and warm throughout.

Hat to o' the day goes to jump jock Danielle Hodsdon for convincing trainer Jonathon Sheppard to enter jumper Sermon of Love in Monda'ys 5th -- a MSW on the flat. Hodsdon not only waqs the impetus for running the horse, she also got legged-up for the ride. And won! Great job.

Quality Road was impressive in his return to the races for trainer Todd Pletcher. The horse was injured while on the Derby Trail earlier this year when racing out of the Jim Jerkens barn. Off since winning the G1 Florida Derby in March, Quality Road not only won off by open lengths, he also estalbished at new track record.

Spotted enjoying some clams and the outdoor atmosphere at Siro's after the races: University of Louisville coach Rick Pitino.

If we are interested in both halves of an entry -- in event of a scratch -- it is noted that way [in other words, both halves are named]. If only one-half of the entry is named, then we prefer that half and will move to our next pick listed [rather than the other half of the entry] in event of a scratch.
