Yesterday

3-10. Winners on top in the 5th [$8.40], 6th [$3.60], and 7th [$5.70]. That translated into a cold P3 Race 5-7 [$42.00/$2]. A cold exacta in the 6th [$12.80].Plus a few other gimmicks mixing up the selections slightly.

When the weather turned a week and a half or so back it turned all the way! The weather on Wednesday was again solid, sunny and comfortable. A crowd of 14,434 enjoyed the day.

Off-track, it was a team of trainers [Rich Schosberg, Mark Hennig, John Kimmel among them] taking on the Saratoga Police ball-team in a charity softball match-up at the Weibel Ave field. Hey's the cops play together -- so we'll give some slack to the horsemen, who don't have the practice time to hone their skills. The final score was somewhere in the 18-5 range with the police on the winning end. A nice night and a good time was had by all.

Today

FIRST RACE
Hurricane Annie...Linda Rice with a turf sprinter. 'Nuff said.
Caesar Beware...Been going well since moving to this level.
Rockhurst...Also has been competitive with this kind.
Lycurgus.
Storm N Lightning.

SECOND RACE
Smokin Pistol...Dicey call since the trainer doesn't put up particularly hot stats with firsters -- but we like the Smoke Glackens. We'll take a shot in a tough mdn clm event.
Millysglo/Irish Mama...On the other hand, this trainer does well first-out and these two have some breeding and a few good works.
Mona From Deltona...Not quite as proficient in the past season or two -- but Violette used to be the go-to guy with 2YO debuters at this meet.
Saratoga Moonlight.

THIRD RACE
Seeking Eldorado...Hook and Ladder runners are precocious and as stated in the previous race -- this trainer can have them ready. Sib to some winners, including at least one stakes winner. Worked 10.2 before 2YO purchase.
Coronation Day...Trainer's having a solid meet and there's a little bit of breeding here.
JT Moore...Improvement is not out of the question in the second start.
Scientist.

FOURTH RACE
Silver Knockers...Tepid vote in what looks like a wide-open race. Decent try over the track last time might have her primed today.
Are We Dreamin...Finished behind the top pick two back and then came back to win last time -- which might, in fact, flatter our top selection. We'll see...
Drama Lady...Comes out of the same race as the top pick [and the second choice's two-back start] and is another that we hope for some improvement from off of that one.
Debbie got Even/Striking Tomisue.

FIFTH RACE
Classic Campaign...Typically in the hunt. The trainer is struggling for wins at the meet but this one looks to fit well with these.
Nergal...Undefeated in two 2008 starts. Dangerous.
Minister's Joy...Off awhile but capable if able to fire best shot.
Most Distinguished.

SIXTH RACE
Glacken Queen/Megalicious...Both have some precocious breeding. Both worked well at auction [Glacken, 21.3; Mega, 21.2]. Eligible to come out running.
Remedy...Expect improvement.
Southern Oaks...Bred well. Working well. And trainer can have them ready.
So Probable.

SEVENTH RACE
Dressed to Win...We said it earlier -- Linda Rice in a turf sprint. 'Nuff said.
Dose of Reality...Plenty of early speed and should be finding some class relief in here.
Skipping Class...AE lister. Improved effort in first start for Levine.
Easy Ashley.
Fiona Freud.
Donna's Sandee.

EIGHTH RACE - Ny Turf Writers Hcp G1
Look At Him...Solid win in preparation for this.
High Action...Was facing the best on the flat in Europe earlier in his career and now has breezed through two jump wins. Very dangerous.
Be Certain...Put together a nice jump career.
Salford City.

NINTH RACE
Sara Louise...Worked a quick 10.2 before attracting a big price at 2Yo sale in February. Working well for debut.
Clear Cut...Could prove interesting with one under her belt already.
Justwhistledixie...Expensive yearling had some trouble in debut and would be no surprise in here.
You Can Dream.

TENTH RACE
Fairytale Story... Layoff is a concern -- but ran well in 2007 debut. Iffy pick -- but none in here seem any more appealing.
Fiddlers Princess...Moves up a condition of a win, but is going well now.
Seeing Clearly...Just missed at this level last time -- but that was sprinting. Has shown some two-turn oomph in the past however.
Make It Come True.

If we are interested in both halves of an entry -- in event of a scratch -- it is noted that way [in other words, both halves are named]. If only one-half of the entry is named, then we prefer that half and will move to our next pick listed [rather than the other half of the entry] in event of a scratch.
