Yesterday

3-10. Winners on top in the 4th [$4.90], 8th [$3.40], and 9th, the featured Albany [$6.70]. Reverse exacta in the 3rd [$18.60/$2] where our top pick snatched defeat from the jaws of victory when she ducked out in the stretch and just missed at the line. Straight exacta in the 8th [$10.40] with our fourth selection completing the tri [$61.00].

Fun result to the Albany with Finger Lakes-based Tin Cup Chalice taking them all the way to not only pick up the win, but the horse also completed the Big Apple Triple and collected a cool $250K bonus. With the NY-bred restricted race attracting two that had competed earlier this year in Triple Crown races, this edition came up tough and the F'Lakes runner -- though undefeated -- had something of an underdog quality and received a warm round of applause from the crowd upon his return to the winner's circle.

19,433 attended. Yet another nice day weather-wise.

Today

FIRST RACE
The Price of Love...Sheppard having a pretty good meet and this one took a similar type of race earlier in the meet.
Dynaski...Been going well over the jumps and last was impressive.
Be Certain...Just missed behind top horse last time.
Bee Charmer.

SECOND RACE
Brooker D...A horse with some talent and jock-trainer connections that are perhaps more potent than others in the field. Tepid vote.
My Cousin Matt...9YO millionaire is clearly the one to beat on the drop off of the claim. Jock's not knocking them dead at the meet however, so we'll take a shot against.
Tenacious Star...Dropping for Dutrow.
Haileys Hero.

THIRD RACE
Analyze Cat...We'll take a shot that this Levine trainee will jump up in first off layoff and second career start.
No Lien Here/Success Fee...Returning to face NY-breds after taking on open company in SoCal. Dangerous.
Notorious Ness...Turf-to-dirt move might prove productive.
Above All Odds.

FOURTH RACE
Live Life Outloud...Takes the most potent drop in racing for Pletcher.
Caitie Boo...Also going MSW to mdn clm'r.
Prominent...Jumped up in first start at this level.
Key Trip.

FIFTH RACE
Mischief...AE lister. First three were OK -- might improve significantly dropping into claimer.
All Verses...Regressed Beyer-fig-wise last time but could rebound on a firmer surface today.
Westward Go...Will be rolling late.
Western Dynamo.
Maven.
Chauvinist.

SIXTH RACE
Rabatash...AE lister. Clearly better on turf.
Big Train...Back in for a tag for only second time in career -- won easily last time in for a tag.
Hall of Famer...AE lister. Faded after showing speed last time and front-running hasn't been the style on turf here this year. Let's hope for a stalking trip.
Clemens.
Intuition Magic.
Chief Operator.

SEVENTH RACE - Old Red $80K
Chestoria...Back in with a group she should find more to her liking.
Medley...Ran well in a similar race last time.
Trouble Maker...AE lister. Last time have been promising.
Waquoit's Love.
Lady Carlock.

EIGHTH RACE - Ballston Spa G2
Rutherienne...Likes the course -- but really likes the trip. She needs her best -- and Wait a While perhaps need to clunk a little. We'll see...
Wait a While...$1.8mil earner from Pletcher is clearly the one to beat. What to make of the latest? Again, we'll see...
Sharp Susan...Coming into this in good form.
Carriage Trail.

NINTH RACE
Fast n' Sassy...Has improved since moving to Levine barn.
Offhand Remark/Hangingonaprayer...Both halves look very dangerous in this field.
Crazy Catlady...Seems to have taken to turf.
Miss Freud.

If we are interested in both halves of an entry -- in event of a scratch -- it is noted that way [in other words, both halves are named]. If only one-half of the entry is named, then we prefer that half and will move to our next pick listed [rather than the other half of the entry] in event of a scratch.
