Yesterday

3-9. Three winners on top [2nd, $5.50; 5th, $2.90; 7th, $5.10]. Two cold exactas [5th, $7.60/$2; 7th, $13.40]. Reverse exacta in the 9th [$39.20] with our third selection completing the tri [$149.00]. And more -- if the selections were jumlbed around just a little bit...

20,098 attended and enjoyed one of the better days of the meet weather-wise -- despite a bleak forecast. Folks we talked to that had driven in from different directions reported rain all around -- but Saratoga stayed dry throughout the card, a rarity at this meet. There was a sprinkle that hit town in the evening.

Today

FIRST RACE
Posse Cat...Looks like the light bulb turned on two back and last gave him some experience at this level.
National Pride...Had an excuse last time.
Joppa Flat's...What to make of that last race? Repeat of that one takes this -- but is that number for real? We'll know more after this one.
Icetate.

SECOND RACE
Light Green...Nice debut. Bullet work in the interim.
Cats...Expensive yearling eligible to improve in second start.
Obsequious...Unknown trainer -- but there's a little bit of breeding here and some OK works.
Mystic Miracle.

THIRD RACE
Fanfire...Expect a rebound with the return to grass.
Sweet Slam...Has taken to the turf.
Love for a Price...Lightly raced and still might have some upside.
Distinctive Doc.
On dirt: Linda's Kisses, Fanfire, Spa Princess, Sweet Slam, Love for a Price.

FOURTH RACE
Sweet Bama Breeze...Adds blinkers to go along with her early speed. Trainer good with turf sprints.
Sage Chapel...Had an excuse last time -- and should go better back on grass.
Fiona Freud...Longtime maiden has been knocking on the door all year.
Mrs Holden.
Ofcr Sheila T Rex.
On dirt: Sweet Bama Breeze, Afleet Aya, Punt's Kitty, Intoxicating Beauty.

FIFTH RACE
Girolamo...Full-sib to some nice ones -- Daydreaming and Accelerator. Light worktab but trainer can have them ready.
Blue Whistler...By Vindication. Could come out running.
Stormalory...Good breeding. OK works. Face it, though, Mott's been cool at the meet.
Romp.

SIXTH RACE
Let's Go Yankees...Got the job done in career start #3 and it's not a huge leap into N2L company.
Spider Rock...Seems like he's gotta be better than the last -- although it's possible he prefers the Poly. But we'll look for a rebound with the class relief.
Honor Evening...Another that has been facing a little bit better.
Maps Hope.

SEVENTH RACE
Quick to Charm...Pletcher runner takes a serious drop.
Monsooned Malabar...Could have found a home on the turf. Beyers moving in the right direction.
Hard to Explain...Third start back from a long layoff and last could signal good form.
Dos Hombres.
On dirt: First of Ten, Hard to Explain, Come On Over, Yankee Chief, Monsooned Malabar.

EIGHTH RACE - Sword Dancer G1
Presious Passion...It might come down to the first half-mile and whether or not this one can sneak away easily from Equitable. If so, this looks like a field packed with stone-cold closers and it might set-up for the front-runner.
Equitable...If he doesn't push early he might suck up right behind all the way.
Better Talk Now...Hard to dispute that he's likely better than the top pair -- but the pace simply might work against him.
Dancing Forever.

NINTH RACE Alabama G1
Music Note...We have to put her at the top of the class until she's dethroned.
Proud Spell...The one to beat.
Sweet Vendetta.

TENTH RACE
Queens Full...A little bit inconsistent -- but picks up Leparoux and should be rolling in the lane.
Forest Trail...Turf starts have all been good and another that will be heard from late.
Goo Goo Eyes...Could be interesting stretching off of two sprints.
Meriwether Jessica.
On dirt: Turn Away/Dulcet Tone, Queens Full, Manitoba Miss, Meriwether Jessica, Forest Trail.

If we are interested in both halves of an entry -- in event of a scratch -- it is noted that way [in other words, both halves are named]. If only one-half of the entry is named, then we prefer that half and will move to our next pick listed [rather than the other half of the entry] in event of a scratch.
