Yesterday

3-10. Three winners on top [2nd, $7.60; 3rd, $3.90; 10th, $4.60]. Cold exactas in the 3rd [$5.60/$2] and 10th [$13.40]. Top three boxed for the tri in the 5th [$107.50]. Plus a few other gimmicks playing around with the selections.

19,342 attended. Can the weather get any stranger? Late in the afternoon -- with the sun shining brightly -- it rained yet again. Tom Durkin pointed out -- and the track TV crew captured it on the video signal -- a rainbow over the track. All turf racing was again moved to the main track -- even though the water was pretty good, the rains had fallen on Tuesday and soaked the grass course.

Today

FIRST RACE
Fort Apache Star...Solid win against probably better early in the meet. Looks capable of repeating.
Casual...Lake ships in and this one also has been facing better.
Cielo Song...Usually in the hunt. Claimed last time.
Strummer.

SECOND RACE
Api Mohkat...Clunked in his turf experiment. Expect a rebound with return to dirt and drop in for a tag.
At Attention...Ran OK in a similar event last time.
Tough Jake...Could wake-up with move into a claimer.
Charging Hero.

THIRD RACE
Main Street...Top two look best here and battled each other last time. We might be getting cute and hoping this one turns the table -- but she got some education at this level last time and the Beyers are moving in the right direction.
Oniyome...Beat top pick last time and is dangerous yet again.
Gattinara...Needs to get back to some of the numbers she was firing earlier this year and last year.
Tiffany's Rodeo.

FOURTH RACE
Red Seven...Just missed in career debut. Perhaps that took something out of her and we'll hope he's rounding back to that effort.
Irish Mama...Some breeding. Some OK works. Trainer can have them ready.
Read the Post...Trainer typically doesn't have them ready to fire first-out -- but this one is working OK for the debut.
Karakorum Cayu.

FIFTH RACE
Rollers...Certainly has the look of a promising NY-bred for Tagg. Tough if he takes to turf.
Pano's Love...Been knocking at the door and finally broke through last time. They're often capable of continuing on once that light bulb sparks.
Thunder Buddy...Just missed in turf debut.
Don't Fooli Houli.
On dirt: Rollers, Coastal Drive, Fire Marshal, Thunder Buddy, Beyond Challenge.

SIXTH RACE
Vinne Van Go...Debut was very promising. Bred to win early. Jock switch a plus.
Trinity Magic...Worked in 10.2 before 2YO sale. Trainer has them ready.
Fiddlers Afleet...High speed shown in first two.
Wise Guy Kelly.
Brazen Action.

SEVENTH RACE
Jilli's Cape...Solid turf sprinter.
Fancy Diamond...Turf debut was in a slaty little stake. Run OK and should find this company slightly easier.
Canadian Ballet...Trainer specializes in these grass sprints.
Dhanyata.
On dirt: Fancy Diamond, Loving Vindication, Love Co, Dhanyata, Jessica Is Back, Canadian Ballet.

EIGHTH RACE - Lake Placid G2
I Lost My Choo...Scratched out of off-turf NY-bred stake that she laid over a couple of weeks back -- but she's completely capable in open company.
Namaste's Wish...Should be rolling late.
Raw Silk...Will be winging early. Encanto Park should keep her company -- but if she shakes clear, or Encanto scratches, she could be tough to run down.
Much Obliged.

NINTH RACE
Hype...Pletcher good with firsters going two turns on grass.
Get Stormy...Decent breeding and some OK works.
Relatively Ready...Might appreciate switch to turf.
Herr Mozart/Evolutionist.
Take the Points, Tar Beach, Toby the Coal Man, Stormalory, Precious Beans.

If we are interested in both halves of an entry -- in event of a scratch -- it is noted that way [in other words, both halves are named]. If only one-half of the entry is named, then we prefer that half and will move to our next pick listed [rather than the other half of the entry] in event of a scratch.
