Yesterday

2-9. A tough day when many of the public handicappers shot oh-fers or only picked up one -- so we're happy to have scored with a couple winners on top.

18,166 attended the second 'twilight card' of the meet. First post was at 2:45pm and the last went off at 7:05pm. Darkness started to set in about half an hour later but the crowd enjoyed another fine racing day with sun and warm temps.

Today

The 'Final Stretch Music Fest' takes place downtown after the races. Musical acts will be performing -- free of charge -- up and down Broadway starting at 7pm.

FIRST RACE
Southern Prince...Early speed has been good in these turf sprints.
Ever a Friend...Runs well in these grass sprints and should be rolling late.
Redefined...Been in the mix in all 2007 starts. Must overcome the outside post.
Delta Storm.

SECOND RACE
Zito entry...Both Pick Off and Web Gem have one under their belt and are eligible to move forward.
Saada...In against some good ones in career debut. Would be no surprise to see him improve today.
Aqab...Expensive yearling might come out running.
Sir Jock.
Golden Weekend.

THIRD RACE
Vitruvius...Has shown big promise in his two starts. Off since April but working well. Scratched from a two-turn event to comeback here.
Americanus...Should be prominent from the get-go.
My Golden Opinion...Looks to be improved as a 3YO.
Brilliant son.

FOURTH RACE
Zito entry...Truth Rules is by Vindication and that one is off to a good start as a sire. Sam's Passion was second to the monster Maimonides.
Hyrule...Bred to win-early and Mott has been able to get them going for the debut the past couple of years.
Anewday...$1mil yearling purchase by Vindication. Working well.
Monsieur Pop.

FIFTH RACE
Dubliner...Call us crazy -- but we're sticking with this guy. Has looked like the one to beat in his last few -- but couldn't get the job done. Has 'permanent bridesmaid' written all over him, so tread lightly. But he has some talent and we think he's going to break through -- eventually. Hopefully today's the day.
Howdyamissthisone...Improving with each start since switching to grass.
Senor Musician...Claimed two back and ran best race yet last time.
Dr DFC.
Jelly Roll Rumble.
Victory Assured.

SIXTH RACE
Rice entry...Trainer's on quite a roll here lately. Hussonefirst working well for debut. Grey Expression will contend if able to get in from AE list.
Rule Seventy Six...By Hook and Ladder and that one is off to a good start as a sire. Working well.
Cobre...Interesting. First-out for Pletcher -- and owned by his top asst at Saratoga. Pletcher has been good debuting on the turf here the past couple of seasons.
Ode to Revolution.

SEVENTH RACE
Admiral Bird...Looked good to start career here last year. Could be rounding into top form.
Chasing the Crown...Might be dangerous is he can sneak away early.
Yankee Thunder...AE lister. Frankel trainee is typically part of the mix.
Drizzly.
Good Going Darl.

EIGHTH RACE
Rice entry... Karakorum Elektra is probably the one to beat -- but she has to get off the AE list. Off Sweets needs to step it up but the trainer is going well -- particularly in these turf sprints.
Heavenly Anna...Been coming up short this year but fits here on best effort.
Breezing...Look for this one to do well with the move to a turf sprint.
Positive Charge.

NINTH RACE - Forego G1
Chatain...This guy has shown flashes of big talent -- might upset in second start off of the layoff with a win over the track under his belt.
High Finance...Has looked like a monster the last two. Clearly the one to beat if able to duplicate those efforts.
Midnight Lute...Baffert runner is another that has shown some flashes of real talent and could be interesting off the layoff and having gained some fitness on the Del Mar Poly.
Attila's Storm.
Benny the Bull.

TENTH RACE - Woodward G1
Magna Graduate...We said we went crazy in the 5th and it hasn't worn off yet. This one has tossed in some very impressive efforts in the past and we like the confidence the trainer is showing putting him in here again vs his superb barnmate. Will need to come up with a top effort.
Lawyer Ron...Ran 'lights-out' in his Spa debut taking the G1 Whitney is track-record time. The one to beat.
Political Force...Seldom runs a bad one and goes out for 'The Giant Killer'.
Wanderin Boy.

ELEVENTH RACE
Equitable...To near-misses so far. Expect another good try.
Grand Strike...Also has put together two good tries -- and edged the top pick in latest.
Terror on Track...AE lister. Seems to be on the improve.
Nationbuilder...AE lister.
Kaishu...Watch out -- this one could prove dangerous if allowed an easy lead.
Uncle Indy.

If we are interested in both halves of an entry -- in event of a scratch -- it is noted that way [in other words, both halve are named]. If only one-half of the entry is named, then we prefer that half and will move to our next pick listed [rather than the other half of the entry] in event of a scratch.
