Surprisingly little major stakes action around the country on this first Saturday of summer. The weekend's big race is perhaps tomorrow's Queen's Plate at Woodbine. In the meantime we've taken a look at some of the best that today has to offer. Slim pickin's -- but we upped the ante with our 'Best Bets' to add some action to the afternoon.

Monmouth, Race 2, exacta box, In Like a Lion/Creek's Shore.
Monmouth, Race 3, Truthsayer.
Monmouth, Race 7, Miracle Hill.

Delaware, Race 3, exacta box, Catoctin Creek/Egyptian Sun.

Belmont: New York G2 $250K

Vacare...Had undefeated streak broken last time at HOL. Look for a rebound with return to east coast.
Jade Queen...Decent try in a minor stake last time should tighten her up for second start of the season.
La Dolce Vita...Seems to be in the hunt more often than not. Will be heard from late.
Makderah.

Monmouth: Salvator Mile G3 $150K

Lawyer Ron...Looks easily the best here.
Indy Wind...Likes the track and might benefit if there's a duel upfront.
Wager: $10 exacta Lawyer Ron over Indy Wind.

Delaware: Sussex $100K

Ballast...Just caught last time after having steering problems late. Might benefit from that effort which was first in five months.
Dreadnaught...There's some back class here. And note that's he undefeated in two tries on this course.
Smart Growth...Wouldn't be surprised if he improves off of last and should add some value to the gimmicks.

Hollywood: Cinema Hcp G3 $150K

Worldy...Perfect since arriving stateside, including a G3 win on this track in latest.
Golden Balls...Another Euro-invader that has impressed on this side of the Atlantic. The one to beat off of his last.
Streets Ahead...And yet one more from across the sea -- only difference is this guy has thrown in two duds since arriving. But we think he's better than that.
