Picks and plays for some of the day's major stakes

Four winners on top in eight races [Laurel, $2.80; Oaklawn, $3.00; Santa Anita, $2.40, 3.40]. And while we collected something in each of the afternoon's races, our scroes reflected the small value of those winners. We had three of the top four finishers in four races -- but we simply couldn't manage to cash a tri ticket.

WAGEERED: $310.00
COLLECTED: $110.70

Aqueduct: Rare Treat Hcp $65K

Bohemian Lady 3-5*
India Halo 2-1
Game Card 17-1

Wager: $5 W on India Halo.
Ran 2nd.
...$4 exacta box top two.
Collected $11.20 on the ex box ($5.60/$2).

India Halo...A couple of good stakes tries over the track in last two -- winning the Ladies Hcp two back over Bohemian Lady.
Bohemian Lady...Nipped in that Ladies Hcp then followed up with easy win in paceless Affectionately. Should have some company on the front-end with Amazing Buy and if one of those sneaks away early they could be hard to catch.
Amazing Buy...See above.

Laurel: Maryland Racing Media Hcp $85K

Sticky/entry 2-5*
Dynamic Deputy/entry 2-5*
Sassy Love 6-1
Fleet Ballado 15-1

Wager: $5 WP on Sticky.
Collected $14.50 on the WP (2.80, 3.00).
...$2 exacta box top two.
Ran 1e-2e-7.
...$1 exacta box top five.
Ran 1e-2e-4-5-7.
...$1 tri box top five.
Ran 1e-2e-4-5-7.

Sticky...Very solid 3YO season including rich stakes win on this track. Off since November but working well and just looks a little better than these.
Ms Louisa Quatorse...We liked her last time and she threw in a complete clunker. Lack of works since is a concern -- but if she can bounce back from the dud she'll be tough.
Dynamic Deputy...Entry-mate of top pick also sports a solid career record.
Fleet Ballado.
Patriots Image.

Gulfstream: Gulfstream Park BC G1 $250K

Einstein 7-1
Go Deputy 5-2
Gun Salute 2-1*

Wager: $5 WP on Go Deputy.
Collected $10.00 on the WP (xxx, 4.00).
...$2 exacta box top two.
Ran 2-3.
...$1 exacta box top four.
Ran 2-3-4-8.
...$1 tri box top four.
Ran 2-3-4-8.

Go Deputy...Pletcher turfer is a very lightly raced 6YO. Ran lifetime best Beyer running second in stake last time and that might signal he's hitting top form.
Gun Salute...Top 3YO turfer last year from Mott. Fizzled in BC Turf but could be tough if ready to roll off the layoff -- and the trainer is OK in that department.
Mustanfar...Part of that top-notch class of 3YO turfers of 2004. Had abbreviated campaign last year. Also could be tough if ready coming off the bench.
Continuously.

Tampa: Tampa Bay BC $125K

Fort Prado 2-1*
Icy Atlantic 5-2
Interpatation 14-1

Wager: $5 WP on Remind.
Ran 12th at 7-1.
...$2 exacta box top two.
Ran 2-12.
...$1 exacta box top four.
Collected $13.10 on the ex box ($26.20/$2).
...$1 tri box top four.
Ran 1-2-8-12.

Remind...Mott turfer has been facing some good ones and could be set for top effort. Ran second as fave in this race last year.
Icy Atlantic...A long time since visiting the winner's circle -- and that's a concern. But Pletcher trainee is still running well and is capable in here.
Fort Prado...Solid 2005 season and started this year with a stakes win.
Dynareign.

Oaklawn: Mountain Valley $50K

Urban Guy 3-1*
Fidrych 4-1
Catonight 7-1

Wager: $5 WP on Formal Appeal.
Ran 6th at 7-1.
...$2 exacta box top two.
Ran 2-6.
...$1 exacta box top four.
Collected $14.50 on the ex box ($29.00/$2).
...$1 tri box top four.
Ran 1-2-6-10.

Formal Appeal...Ran second in Saratoga debut -- between Fabled and High Cotton. 3YO debut was a third behind Keyed Entry. Asmussen trainee might be better than record appears.
Fidrych...Trainer and jock having a solid meet. This one could be set for prime effort in second start off layoff.
Corredor de Plata...Undefeated in two starts.
Urban Guy.

Oaklawn: Southwest $250K

Lawyer Ron 1-2*
Steppenwolfer 6-1
Red Raymond 32-1

Wager: $5 WP on Lawyer Ron.
Collected $13.50 on the WP (3.00, 2.40).
...$2 exacta box top two.
Ran 1-5.
...$1 exacta box top four.
Collected $5.40 on the ex box ($10.80/$2).
...$1 tri box top four.
Ran 1-2-4-5.

Lawyer Ron...Has looked super winning last three -- question is: Will that superior form translate outside of Louisiana? We'll know more today.
Mark of Success...Second to top pick in stakes race last time and with only three career races he still has plenty of room to improve.
Music School...Another that has plenty of potential and would be no surprise.
Steppenwolfer.

Santa Anita: Las Flores Hcp G3 $100K

Behaving Badly 1-5*
Awesome Lady 20-1
Spirit to Spare 24-1

Wager: $5 W on Behaving Badly.
Collected $6.00 on the W (2.40).
...$2 exacta Behaving Badly over Vaca City Flyer.
Ran 1/4.
...$4 exacta box top two.
Ran 1-4.
...$1 tri key Behaving Badly over next three.
Ran 1/3-4-6.

Behaving Badly...Showing four 100+ Beyers in seven races -- while there's only one triple digit Beyer among the rest of the field. A repeat of big effort in G1 Santa Monica takes this.
Vaca City Flyer...Will be tough if able to transfer recent form from NoCal to SoCal.
Galactic Cat...Could add some value on the first-out-for-Mullins angle.
Spirit to Spare.

Santa Anita: Pro Or Con Hcp $100K

Moscow Burning 3-5*
Alphabet Kisses 5-1
Unusual Spring 7-2

Memorette scratched.

Wager: $5 WP on Moscow Burning.
Collected $14.50 on the WP (3.40, 2.40).
...$2 exacta box top two.
Scratched.
...$1 exacta box top four.
Collected $8.00 on the ex box ($16.00/$2).
...$1 tri box top four.
Ran 1-2-5.

Moscow Burning...Laid off most of 2005 but now has strung three together including solid win in latest in Sunshine Millions F/M Turf. Cozy fit against Cal-breds.
Memorette...Graded stakes competitor should also appreciate the state-bred company.
Thrilling Victory...Could be interesting stretching out off of a string of dirt sprints.
Alphabet Kisses.

If we are interested in both halves of an entry -- in event of a scratch -- it is noted that way. If only one-half of the entry is named, then we prefer that half and will move to our next pick listed in event of a scratch.
Scratches listed in our results reflect only horses that were part of our selections, not necessarily all the horses that were scratched. Check official results for complete information.
