Aqueduct: Correction Hcp $65K

Magnolia Jackson 4-1
Speed Bag 8-1
Great Intentions 3-5

Wager: $5 WP on Great Intentions.
Ran 3rd.
...$4 exacta box top two.
Ran 1-3.
...$2 tri key Great Intentions over next three.
Ran 3/1-2-6.

Great Intentions...Really came to life last fall with two big stakes wins at Belmont. Flopped after shipping cross-country and running on a sealed track in the G1 La Brea. Question is: Does she just prefer Belmont? We think she'll rebound to good form with this bunch and prove her two wins there weren't flukes.
Magnolia Jackson...Hmmm, here's one that could be a horse-for-course on this strip. Really moved forward last time in first try over the inner.
Acey Deucy...She also has shown a liking for this track. A couple of bullets showing in the holster.
Schemer.

Gulfstream: Old Hat G3 $100K

Misty Rosette 5-1
Swap Fliparoo 6-1
Smart N Pretty 9-2

Wager: $5 WP on Yachats.
Ran 4th at 9-5.
...$4 exacta box top two.
Ran 4-5.
...$2 tri key Great Intentions over next three.
Ran 4/1-2-5.

Yachats...By the promising young sire Forest Camp. 2-2 for Pletcher. Just won this track and trip three weeks ago.
Miraculous Miss..3-3. Jumped 24 Beyer points when moved from NW1 to stakes last time. Good work for this last week.
Swap Fliparoo...Comes back in just seven days for Jerkens. Big jock switch.
Misty Rosette.

Gulfstream: Davona Dale G2 $150K

Wait a While 3-1
Teammate 9-5
Wonder Lady Anne L 5-2

Wager: $5 WP on Wonder Lady Anne L.
Ran 3rd.
...$2 exacta box top two.
Ran 2-3.
...$1 exacta box top four.
Collected $18.10 on the ex box ($36.20/$2).
...$1 tri box top four.
Collected $46.10 on the tri box ($92.20/$2).

Wonder Lady Anne L...Had trouble but ran her best race winning the G2 Demoiselle in November. Should be able to sit behind the early pace and the three just inside look like they'll duke it out for the lead.
Teammate...Won big two back in her only try at two turns. Just missed going a one-turn mile on this strip last time and should be set up for a good try today.
Wait a While...Plenty of early foot. Ran third in the Demoiselle after leading early. Things could be similar today -- although she might come back from the layoff a little saltier than last year. We'll see...
Bushfire.

Gulfstream: Suwannee River Hcp G3 $100K

Off-turf
Eyees On Eddy 6-5
Taittinger Rose 5-2
Marchonin 9-2

Olaya, Noble Stella, Nataloe Beach.

Wager: $5 WP on Olaya.
Moved off utrf -- all C2C wagers canceled.
...$2 exacta box top two.
...$1 exacta box top four.
...$1 tri box top four.
Olaya...French-import won her US debut in G2 Long Island. Quick work last Friday say she's on her toes for return.
Noble Stella...A little bit inconsistent although she usually puts up good numbers. A couple of bullet works for this.
Natalie Beach...Ran a pretty good race off of a nearly three-month layoff. She'll be tough if she's tighter today.
Cotopaxi.

Gulfstream: Hutcheson G2 $150K

Keyed Entry 5-2
First Samurai 3-5
Express News 20-1

City Attraction scratched.

Wager: $5 WP on City Attraction.
Scratched.
...$2 exacta box top two.
Scratched.
...$1 exacta box top four.
Ran 2-4-7.
...$1 tri box top four.
Ran 2-4-7.

City Attraction...These early Derby Trail races can often produce some surprises and we'll hope for one here. We liked this guy when he won at Saratoga and the improvement shown with each start is encouraging. Solid work for this on Monday.
First Samurai...Runner-up for the 2YO Eclipse might have a slight class edge on these. But he's been off three months and might need one.
Blazing Rate...Solid in four 2YO starts.
Catcominatcha.

Gulfstream: Holy Bull G3 $150K

Barbaro 8-5
Great Point 25-1
My Golden Song 11-1

Wager: $5 WP on Flashy Bull.
Ran 4th at 4-1.
...$2 exacta box top two.
Ran 4-5.
...$1 exacta box top four.
Ran 4-5-6-11.
...$1 tri box top four.
Ran 4-5-6-11.

Flashy Bull...Off since running second in the G2 Remsen. Bullet work on Jan 18. Don't see much pace in here so if he's ready he might take them all the way.
Itsallaboutthechase...Moved from MSW to just miss in a stake. If improvement continues he's a player in here.
Doctor Decherd...Bombed two back but book-ended that flop with two wins, including a stake here last time.
Hemingway's Key.

Gulfstream: Donn Hcp G1 $500K

Brass Hat 8-1
Pies Prospect/entry 4-1
Andromeda's Hero/entry 4-1
Magna Graduate 4-1

Wager: $5 WP on Super Frolic.
Ran 8th at 4-1.
...$2 exacta box top two.
Ran 4-8.
...$1 exacta box top four.
Ran 4-6-8-9.
...$1 tri box top four.
Ran 4-6-8-9.

Super Frolic...Won the G2 Hawthorne Gold Cup and ran a decent fourth in the BC Classic despite trouble, both since moving into the Cerin barn. Solid string of works in SoCal for return and a big bullet on this track Tuesday.
Magna Graduate...Marked improvement since Pletcher took over. The one to beat coming in off of three straight stakes wins.
On Thin Ice...Sometimes we try to outsmart ourselves while guys like this stare us in the face -- convincing stakes winner this track and trip last time.
Suave.

Laurel: Miracle Wood $75K

Sweetsouthernsaint 1-5
Vegas Play/entry 9-2
Sierra Quorum 28-1

Creve Coeur scratched.

Wager: $5 WP on Sweetnorthernsaint.
Collected $12.50 on the WP ($2.60, 2.40).
...$2 exacta box top two.
Scratched.
...$1 exacta box top four.
Collected $4.20 on the ex box ($8.40/$2).
...$1 tri box top four.
Ran 1-2e-4e-9.

Sweetnorthernsaint...Toss his debut in August and next two were eye-popping. Big win against maiden claimers was nullified by DQ but he came back to crush a MSW field next time. Gets tested here but he only has to be in the neighborhood of those last two to get it done against this bunch.
Creve Coeur...Being stakes-placed gives him an experience advantage on the top pick -- and that might make the difference.
Nine Best...Has shown improvement through each of his five starts.
Vegas Play/Tactical Brush.

Tampa: Manatee $60K

Ebony Breeze 1-1
Toll Taker 7-1
Beautiful Bets 9-2

Malibu Mint scratched.

Wager: $5 WP on Platinum Perfect.
Ran 4th at 3-1.
...$2 exacta box top two.
Ran 3-4.
...$1 exacta box top four.
Ran 1-3-4.
...$1 tri box top four.
Ran 1-3-4.

Platinum Perfect... Won a similar stake here last month. Meets leading rider onboard.
Beautiful Bets...Second to top pick in last. Hasn't shown much desire to win lately -- but fits with these.
Ebony Breeze...Won a big alw here two weeks ago. Outside post a cause for concern. Note she ran second in this race last year at 3-5.
Malibu Mint.

Oaklawn: King Cotton $50K

Beau's Town 8-5
Stolen Time 11-1
Joe Six Pack 12-1

Wager: $5 WP on That Tat.
Ran 5th at 35-1.
...$2 exacta box top two.
Ran 5-9.
...$1 exacta box top four.
Ran 3-5-6-9.
...$1 tri box top four.
Ran 3-5-6-9.

That Tat...We liked him in the FG @ La Downs stake three weeks ago -- but he wasn't in top form off of the layoff. Trainer very good second time back though. If the 8YO is able to recapture his best he'll be tough today.
Top Commander...Horse-for-course. His two best lifetime races -- by far -- were over this track last year.
Joe Six Pack...Another from trainer Cole Norman -- he has four in here -- and he can motor. Off a long time but has a string of bullets showing.
Rodeo's Castle.

Santa Anita: Sham G3 $100K

Bob and John 2-5
Hawkinsville 5-1
Sacred Light 3-1

Wager: $5 WP on Bob and John.
Collected $12.50 on the WP ($2.80, 2.20).
...$5 exacta Bob and John over Sacred Light.
Ran 1/3.
...$5 exacta box top two.
Ran 1-3.
...$2 tri Bob and John over next two.
Ran 1/3-4.

Bob and John...A legit contender in the division finds himself in a field of mostly unproven competitors. Likely to boss this bunch if right.
Sacred Light...Third to top pick in last, which was his first in nearly five months. Might be tighter today.
Genre...Benefitted from the controversial DQ to beat the top pick in November -- but he was second (or third) best that day.

Santa Anita: Strub G2 $300K

High Limit 3-1
Top This and That 18-1
Giacomo 9-2

Wager: $5 WP on Canteen.
10th at 5-2.
...$2 exacta box top two.
Ran 10-11.
...$1 exacta box top four.
Ran 3-4-10-11.
...$1 tri box top four.
Ran 3-4-10-11.

Canteen...But for traffic probably would have won the G2 San Fernando last time. Chance to make amends.
Distorted...We liked him in the San Fernando but he just didn't fire that day. Think he's better than that and we'll give him another look.
Greeley's Galaxy...Might be ready to step up in third start off the bench.
Giacomo.

If we are interested in both halves of an entry -- in event of a scratch -- it is noted that way. If only one-half of the entry is named, then we prefer that half and will move to our next pick listed in event of a scratch.
Scratches listed in our results reflect only horses that were part of our selections, not necessarily all the horses that were scratched. Check official results for complete information.
