Yesterday

2-9. Two winners on top [3rd, $5.80; 9th, $5.20]. Also, a cold exacta in the 3rd [$19.40/$2] and a reverse exacta in the nightcap [$29.20].

Another nice, relaxing late-season day at the Spa. Weather was just right and 13,664 took in the action.

Today

Twilight racing. First post is 3pm.

FIRST RACE
Caiman...Remember this one as a longshot in the 2004 Belmont? He's found a more proper level and has been going well recently. Some of the dropdowns will be scary if they can recapture their best form but we'll stick with this guy, having proven to be in good form of late.
Cat's a Rockin...Also has been running well at about this level the last few.
Dual Jewels...And yet one more which has been competing decently for this price in most recent starts.
Antaios.
Seaside Salute.

SECOND RACE
A Wonder She Is...Has the look of one that might move forward in her second start. Drop in for a tag and blinkers should help.
Bare Dancer...Nice second in first start -- but it was over a muddy/sealed track.
Romans entry...Rayona might improve off her debut. Acadia Breeze has a nice steady string of works.
Isle Capote.

THIRD RACE
Big Prairie...Moves up a condition which is always tough but it just looks like he's turned a corner recently.
Planets Aligned...Having taken two straight claimers this one now comes into this NW2 with four wins. Has an affinity for this grass.
Cat's On a Prowl...Ran well here last summer. Last few in Kentucky were good. But has been off since June and trainer is a little cool at the meet.
Tungsten.

FOURTH RACE
Striking Tomisue...Zito's been on fire with debut runners at the meet. Sire Smart Strike is solid with firsters.
Perfect Forest...Makes career debut for Pletcher/Velazquez. 'Nuff said.
For a Prayer...By a good win-early sire, Songandaprayer. Jock got off the schneid yesterday.
Chocolate Chip.

FIFTH RACE
Her Royal Nibs...The Beyer in last is just so high that it looks like an aberration -- but the race itself seems to indicate she's in top form now and likes this track.
Lady Jove...Has a sneaking suspicion that she might appreciate the cutback.
Vasa...It's all about recapturing prior good form with the class relief for this gal.
Girl in Uniform.

SIXTH RACE
Quick Humor...Beaten fave showed some speed and faded in debut. That's the kind they can improve off of. Iffy, but the breeding's there and the trainer is going well at the meet.
Freudian Smile...Very attractive on the breeding.
Cagey Girl...AE lister. Solid in debut despite traffic.
Belle Harbor.
Ahvee's Destiny.
Street Sass.

SEVENTH RACE
Hunting Hillbilly...Ok we're chasing this one a little bit -- but we still feel like it's a decent play here. We were on this one in the first race of the meet when he broke badly and then closed to be an OK fourth at 12-1. The follow-up on 8/12 was almost as bas trip-wise as he went wide coming into the lane and lost plenty of ground. Let's hope for some racing luck and redemption today.
Seeking Answers...Looks live with a drop down the claiming ladder.
Forget the Judge...Solid win in a similar -- albeit slightly shorter -- event last time. Likes it here in the Spa.
Dr Bloomer.

EIGHTH RACE - With Anticipation $70K
Fernando Po...We had this guy on top last time when moved to turf and stretched out off of two sprints. Had trouble on the first turn. Caught behind horses at the top of the stretch. Ran a little bit greenly when finally clear. And to top it all -- had the horse veer in front of him. And he still just missed.
Admiral Bird...Solid win in career debut against state-breds. Should fit with these.
Twilight Meteor...Pletcher 2YO went well over the grass and at this trip to win first-time out.
French Transition.
Giant Chieftain.

NINTH RACE
Sarah Sunshine...Debut was good enough that this one attracted plenty of action last time. Showed speed that day and faded but often times they can rebound in their third start from a little bit of a digression in their second start.
Bella Attrice...Probably overmatched in last.
Small Potatoes...AE lister. Has been rounding into form over the last few.
Zip Stream.
Inca Is Calling.

If we are interested in both halves of an entry -- in event of a scratch -- it is noted that way [in other words, both halve are named]. If only one-half of the entry is named, then we prefer that half and will move to our next pick listed [rather than the other half of the entry] in event of a scratch.
