1-10. And so we settle in at a creaky 25% winners-on-top. It not much solace that we're right in the pack of public handicappers... Winner in the 8th [$9.90] was it for us on Saturday. We also caught the cold exacta in that race [$27.20/$2]. Otherwise the cold snap of the past two or three days continues. It will turn around -- just have to hope it's sooner rather than later...

Attendance was a solid 28,606. Even more impressive considering the weather took a turn for the worse. After a string of really great weather, Saturday offered up a continuous drizzle throughout much of the afternoon. It wasn't enough to send people scurrying -- and most of the backyard folks toughed it out, either living with it being a little damp or parking themselves under a tarp or umbrella[s].

Traffic in town was snarled well past the 7pm hour and there was a steady line of cars down Route 50 to the SPAC entrance where Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young were the scheduled headliners.

Free travel mug with each paid admission while supplies last...

A heavy, soaking rain hit Saratoga overnight. Be sure to check track condition and changes.

FIRST RACE
Suave Queen...In a weak field we'll go with strong connections and some back class. Only one race in since Oct 2004 however...
Bohemian Rain...Drops in for a tag after facing alw types in Boston.
Most Charming...A couple of decent tries at this level out of town.
Sunshine Johanne.

SECOND RACE
Humorous Venture...Firster from Distorted Humor. Sold for $120K earlier this year.
Second Marriage...Solid debut. Tough if able to repeat or improve.
Crosstown Traffic...Has the look of one that can improve in second start.
Tishmeister.

THIRD RACE
Kennel Up...Showed speed going longer -- could be interesting on the cutback.
Callmetony...Fairly consistent -- but not sure how he matches here class-wise. Looks perhaps capable of stalking and pouncing.
The Student...Might rate this one as top pick but trainer Lake is cold at the meet.
Spooky Mulder.

FOURTH RACE
Make Us Happy...Seemed to be rounding into good form this spring -- as such the layoff is a little bit of a concern. But trainer is OK off a break and this one put in a good work one week ago. Could be the one to get the job done from the rail.
Keep Your Day Job...Pretty solid in these NY-bred events so far. Third-place in a stake stands out among this bunch. But note that most of her running was done over the AQU inner.
Ada's Diamond...Looks to have gotten the hang of it with the nice win last time.
Point Spread.

FIFTH RACE
Rausehenbachs Halo...Looks like he might be improved since returning as a 3YO. Big jock switch.
Karakorum Knockout...Just missed in a similar event last time.
Daybeforeher B'day...Has shown some flashes and might wake-up with move from turf-to-dirt.
Nehantic Kat.

SIXTH RACE
Sweet September...Broke maiden two back. Then showed decent speed in first try against winners. Could be set up to improve stretching out today off of two sprints.
Calla Lily...Will be rolling late.
Carriage Trail...Gets to string a couple together and 8/14 work stands out.
Madame Diva.
On dirt: Sweet September, Burletta, Veneti, Madame Diva, Christmas Lily.

SEVENTH RACE
Allude...Nothing in here is jumping off the page so we'll land here by default. Sold for $150K in March to win-early connections.
Tale of the Queen..Would rate this one higher off of solid debut -- but trainer is not showing much at the meet.
Baroness Thatcher...Eligible to improve off of first start.
Acadiana.

EIGHTH RACE - John's Call $70K
Willard Straight...Seems to be in good form vis-a-vis this bunch -- but only gets a tepid nod with no wins showing since this meet last year and no experience at anywhere near this distance.
Cat's On a Prowl...Lightly raced and perhaps still eligible to improve. Good work for this and has a win at eleven furlongs -- so the marathon shouldn't present a problem.
Auguri...Not unusual that this type of race gets stolen on the front-end and this guy looks like the most likely thief.
Rousing Victory.
On dirt: Auguri, Misto Quente, Dr Rockett, Approved by Dylan, Diligent Gambler.

NINTH RACE
Sky High Flyer...By the numbers this one looks to dominate in here.
Oberon's Girl...Will be heard from in the lane.
Silver Charades...Showed promise last year as a 3YO -- including two nice races on this grass. Layoff is a concern.
Titian Time.
On dirt: Pretty Proud, Citronnade, Saratoga Drive, Ok to Pay, Trick's Pic, Grand Idea, Faster Tapper.

TENTH RACE
Jetastik...The play here is to hope this one can take them gate-to-wire. Doesn't look like there's anyone in here to challenge early. Just a matter of whether or not this one is ultimately good enough.
Alley Singer...Has shown enough to include here and the most recent work makes her interesting.
Zip Stream...Looks to have turned the corner the last two. Jock switch helps.
Bella Attrice.
Muberra.
Clear Heels.
On dirt: Alley Singer, Treasured Song, Dixieland Squall, Crusader's Code, Muberra.

If we are interested in both halves of an entry -- in event of a scratch -- it is noted that way [in other words, both halve are named]. If only one-half of the entry is named, then we prefer that half and will move to our next pick listed [rather than the other half of the entry] in event of a scratch.
