Yesterday

4-10. A day we thought featured some inscrutable contests turned out to be a pretty good afternoon. Four winners on top [1st, $6.70; 2nd, $5.10; 6th, $6.20; 8th, $5.40]. It was a little bit frustrating to see our top pick run second in five other races. Doh!

But, along with the winners, we had three cold exactas [1st, $23.00/$2; 2nd, $23.80; 6th, $15.20]. Plus the early double cold [$26.20/$2]. And our top two reversed for two more exactas [5th, $24.40/$2, 9th, $26.20].

21,465 attended and enjoyed a picture perfect day weather-wise.

Today

FIRST RACE
Mark the shark...This guy just might be able to lull them to sleep on the front end.
Good Night ShirtWon a jump stake at Colonial in latest. Won nicely here last summer.
Hirapour...Solid stakes performer got a nice prep for this on the flat on Open House day. Gives some weight and might need one.
Malagash.

SECOND RACE
Autobahn Girl...Nicely bred and working well.
Sharp susan...Good looking debut. Tough if able to improve.
Panty Raid...Connections always dangerous in these 2YO events.
Mostbeautifulstorm.

THIRD RACE
Philanthropy Lady...Claimed three back and ran a nice one on dirt followed by an effort last time that was probably not as bad as it looks given the pace. Expect better today with the drop in for a tag.
Keltish Lass...Dirt tries showed some promise. Eligible move forward with switch to grass.
Ready to Talk...Should appreciate return to turf.
Secret Witness.

FOURTH RACE
Admiral Bird...Sold for $250K at 2YO sale. Working well for debut.
Lights of Broadway...Showed speed in debut after a poor start. Should improve today.
Flying Zee entry...Both Thunderestimate and Graduating Class are eligible to go well here. Each attracts a big-name jock. Owner likes to win at the Spa.
Fortissi More.

FIFTH RACE
Cuaba...Looked good in two starts last year -- particularly the grass try. Off since November, but Mott OK off the layoff.
Demurrer...Closed well to finish third in debut. The one to beat if able to improve off of that effort.
Lemon Drop Cello...Ran best number yet in comebacker -- which might indicate some added maturity off of the break.
Anxiety.

SIXTH RACE
Imperial Reign...Sold for $1 mil at 2YO sale. Worked in 21.1 prior to that sale. Works leading into this say she's held that speed. Dangerous in debut.
Five Star Daydream...Good second in first start. Likely to be heard from again today.
Whimsical Miss...From a win-early sire.
Orange Crush.

SEVENTH RACE
Leo's Pegasus...Beyers have improved steadily since her second career start. If she holds her form off of the brief layoff she'll be tough here.
McGaughey entry...Both Altesse and El Coyote look capable on their best.
Southern Flu...Lone two turn try was arguably her best yet.
Gac's Tomboy.

EIGHTH RACE - Morrissey $70K
Big Apple Daddy...Simply looks the one to beat amongst this bunch.
Gold and Roses...And this one looks logical to complete the exacta.
Casper Peterson...Beat the top pick last year but been off awhile and might need one.
Just in Fun.

NINTH RACE
Rasta Farian...Little bit of a roll of the dice here... This one will need to clear from the outside, but if able to might take these all the way.
Grand Opening...Frankel filly should be stalking early and rolling late.
Dynamist...Have always thought this one is more talented than her record indicated -- but eventually she needs to step up and prove that!
Dina.
Carocita.

If we are interested in both halves of an entry -- in event of a scratch -- it is noted that way [in other words, both halve are named]. If only one-half of the entry is named, then we prefer that half and will move to our next pick listed [rather than the other half of the entry] in event of a scratch.
