Yesterday

4-9. That's more like it! Four winners on top (6.20, 14.00, 5.70, 2.60). We had the early double cold ($38.60/$2). Plus, a mix of some other gimmicks with our top two or three boxed in one fashion or another.

On-track 23,932 attended -- although numbers might have been inflated slightly by the Todd Pletcher bobblehead giveaway. Appropriately Pletcher took the feature race -- for the second day in a row. Favored Scat Daddy looked absolutely beaten with just fifty yards to go -- but surged in the shadow of the wire and nabbed 13-1 Teuflesberg for a neck win. The weather was hot and humid weather. With the finale on the turf, the main track was sealed after the feature in anticipation of late afternoon T-storms and, sure enough, a storm did briefly rattle through the area at about 6pm.

Off-track, SPAC featured the Philadelphia Orchestra playing Movie music -- specifically, themes from Star Wars and Harry Potter [among others]. It was family night and a good crowd was on-hand both in the amphitheater and on the lawn. A pre-show kids costume competition meant that there were some 4-foot Darth Vaders and Harry Potters seen running around at intermission.

Today

The Hat's Off Music Festival features free performances by various musical groups and takes place all up and down Broadway from 7-11pm.

FIRST RACE
Dutrow[s] entry... Roanoke's Best looks to be in improving form. Goes turf-to-dirt. Drops below claim price despite having run well against better. Life Savior has some early foot and an affinity for this track.
Jules for AJ...Three nice starts this season with an improving Beyer trend.
Friendship Circle...Drop off the layoff is suspicious -- but will be dangerous if ready.
Main Stream.

SECOND RACE
Tall Story...Had trouble separating our top two picks but we'll give the nod to this one with Prado onboard.
Extreme Supreme...Looks like there is some real talent here. Might prove tough on the stretchout.
Act of Contrition...Just missed last time and that could signal he's rounding into top form.
Pennant Contender.

THIRD RACE
Regina Madre...If she clears Aristocratic Lady early she might be tough to run down late.
Karen's Caper...Frankel was planning to run her in a Saturday stake but changed his mind, telling DRF, "I might as well get her first start back, get a win, and there'll be plenty of races down the road to get her a Grade 1." You've been warned.
Aristocratic Lady...If she doesn't duel with the top pick her she has the positional speed to be in the hunt late.
Keeping Watch.

FOURTH RACE
Jocassee...Strong, steady string of works for win-early connections. That 5/21 bullet really stands out.
Icy City...Decent debut despite trouble.
Lookslikecash...Anytime 2YOs fire bullets you have to take notice -- even if it's at the F'Lakes.
Distinct Pleasure.

FIFTH RACE
Sun Lucky...Really only looks like two, maybe three in here are capable of showing early speed. This gal might be the fastest of those.
Maricopa...Should also be prominent early.
Albany County...A wake-up call on the drop into claimers isn't out of the question.
Town Charmer.

SIXTH RACE
Treasured Song...Kimmel's been going well this year and, although the current stats don't reflect it, youngsters were once a highlight from his barn. From Unbridled's Song this one might be ready at first asking.
Lady Rizzi...She's finished second in all three career starts -- and amazing had trouble at the break in each!
Crush N Run.

SEVENTH RACE
Owns the Place...Drops down and might be the one to catch.
Be Cool Fool...Been running well in Maryland and Boston. Tough if that form translates to NY.
Cottage...Hmmm, the question mark in here. Been racing against much better -- on grass. Raced well on dirt earlier in career. But why the drop?
Hongkong.

EIGHTH RACE - Lake George G2 $100K
Magnificient Song...Tough call in this event but we'll go here hoping that Quite a Bride and Somethinaboutbetty hook each other early. If that happens this could be the one to swoop in late.
Quite a Bride...Will be tough however if she sneaks away.
Somethinaboutbetty...Same here.
Pyramid Love.

NINTH RACE
Bella Attrice...Looks logical in a weak field.
Sarah Sunrise...AE lister. Just missed in debut. A repeat puts her right there -- any improvement makes her the one to beat.
Stag Dancer...AE lister. Shown improvement since moving to grass.
Dove Wing. Hot Truck Honey.
Jetastik.

If we are interested in both halves of an entry -- in event of a scratch -- it is noted that way [in other words, both halve are named]. If only one-half of the entry is named, then we prefer that half and will move to our next pick listed [rather than the other half of the entry] in event of a scratch.
