Picks and plays for some of the day's major stakes

Two winners in twelve races (Aqueduct, $2.30, $3.70). Really not a whole lot more to get excited about on the day. A smattering of gimmicks, topped by some decent payoffs in the Wood at Aqueduct.

WAGERED: $419.00
COLLECTED: $345.15

Turf wagers are turf only

Scratched.
...$2 tri key Lost in the Fog over next three.
Ran 1/2-5.
...$1 exacta box Attila's Storm/White Socks/Benjamin Baby.
Ran 2-5.

Lost in the Fog...Can't fault the phenomenal 4-4, four triple-digit Beyer record.
White Socks...Thrown to the wolves in second career start but might be a good one.
Benjamin Baby.

Aqueduct: Carter Hcp G1 $350K

Forest Danger 4-5
Medallist 9-2
Don Six 5-1

Wager: $4 exacta box top two.
Collected $25.20 on the ex box ($12.60/$2).
...$2 tri key Forest Danger over next three.
Collected $26.60 on the tri key ($26.60/$2).
...$1 tri key Medallist over other three.
Ran 2/1-3-5.

Forest Danger...Comeback effort says this one could be better as a 4YO -- and he was pretty darn good as a 3YO.
Medallist...Won the Withers here last year to put the only blemish on top pick's resume. Last two make him the one to beat.
Don Six...Just missed in General George last time and winner went on to take rich sprint stake on Dubai World Cup card.
Mass Media.

Aqueduct: Wood Memorial G1 $750K

Bellamy Road 5-2
Survivalist 5-1
Scrappy T 12-1

Wager: $5 WP on Survivalist.

Survivalist...Gotham win could signal he's rounding into top form for Shug.
Bellamy Road...Yet another bullet from loaded Zito holster. 3YO debut was huge.
Going Wild...Always in the hunt.
Scrappy T.

Keeneland: Ashland G1 $500K

Sis City 8-5
Runway Model 4-1
Memorette 9-1

...$1 tri key Letgomyecho over next three.
Ran 5/1-2-4.
...$1 tri box top four.
Ran 1-2-4-5.

Letgomyecho...Undefeated in three lifetime starts and closing style could be the key today.
Sis City...Wow -- 3YO debut in G2 was a romp. Only knock is she'll likely face early pace pressure from Summerly. A duel could set it up for top pick.
Summerly...Comes in with a three-race streak including two graded stakes -- but all were at Fair Grounds so she's needs to prove it was talent and not the course. Also will have to contend with Sis City early.
Runway Model.

Gulfstream: Yankee Affair $50K

Procreate 16-1
True Love's Secret 25-1
Shake the Bank 10-1

Scratched.
...$1 exacta box top four.
Ran 2-4.
...$1 tri key Shake You Down over next three.
Scratched.
...$1 tri box top four.
Scratched.

Shake You Down...Optional claiming win two back shows he's still ultra-competitive when spotted properly.
Wild Jam...In top form.
Dale's Prospect...Also in the best form of his career.
Bold Days.

Oaklawn: Oaklawn Hcp G2 $500K

Grand Reward 3-1
Second of June 6-1
Eddington 4-5

Ran 5th at 2-1.

Second of June.

Oaklawn: Apple Blossom Hcp G1 $500K

Shadow Cast...Solid winter at Fair Grounds.
Island Fashion.

Hawthorne: Illinois Derby G2 $500K

Greeley's Galaxy 9-5
Monarch Lane 9-2
Magna Graduate 9-2

Wager: $5 WP on Magna Graduate.
Ran 3rd.
...$2 exacta box top two.
Ran 2-3.
...$1 exacta box top four.
Collected $17.20 on the ex box ($34.40/$2).
...$1 tri box top four.
Collected $48.90 on the tri box ($97.80/$2).

Magna Graduate...Looked primed for a big effort coming out of the Battaglia. Flopped in the Lane's End although held well late after it looked like he might be blown away. We'll see if perhaps the sealed track affected him and he can bounce back.
Monarch Lane...Sets up kind of like Flower Alley for Pletcher. That one was also lightly raced and came out of Florida to win the Lane's End a couple of weeks ago.
Kansas City Boy...Think he might be better than La Derby performance.
Greeley's Galaxy.

Santa Anita: Arcadia Hcp G2 $150K

Singletary 2-1

Buckland Manor 1-1

Wager: $5 WP on Buckland Manor.

Ran 3/1-2-5.

Buckland Manor...Tough if able to repeat big effort shown in Kilroe.
Sweet Return...Just behind top pick in Kilroe and could be tighter today.
Singletary...Disappointed with late fade in Kilroe but might have needed one.
Sweet Stepper.

Santa Anita: Santa Anita Derby G1 $750K

Buzzards Bay 30-1
General John B 64-1
Wilko 7-2

Wager: $5 WP on Giacomo.

...$2 exacta box top two.
Ran 4-5.
...$1 exacta box top four.
Ran 3-4-5-6.
...$1 tri box top four.
Ran 3-4-5-6.

Giacomo...Best race was arguably two back in the Sham at today's trip. Shortened up last time and still ran well. We'll hope he appreciates return to nine furlongs.
Sweet Catomine...2YO filly champ gets big test taking on the boys but she looks capable.
Wilko...BC Juvie winner might have needed last.
Don't Get Mad.

Santa Anita: Providencia G3 $100K
