Yesterday

1-9. The funkiness continues with our second choice winning four and our top choice running second just as many time -- including two beats that came right on the wire! Doh! But the handicapping reamins solid topped by the reverse exacta in the 8th for $30.20/$2. And the nightcap offered some value to those that dove a little deeper into the selections with our second choice winning at 17-1 and our fourth choice following at 14-1 for a $285.50 exacta.

One winner on top (4th, $2.90). And, as indicated, we looked home-free in both the 7th and the 8th only to be caught in the shadow of the wire.

On-track 18,831 enjoyed another fine day weather-wise, although the humidity levels have again been high.

Today

FIRST RACE
Red Handed Robin...Top trainer knows how to sopt them to win and this guy has been competitive against better.
Uboughtwhat...Ship in from Delaware where he's also been competing for a higher tag.
Queen for a Knight...Might find this company more appealing than latest.
Hayworth.

SECOND RACE
Ocean Beauty...Connections are typically well-meant when bringing freshman-class to this meet.
Bemused...Also a trainer/owner team that likes to win early. Working well.
Win McCool...Be forewarned -- his last is turning into a key race. Winner followed up monster debut effort with a score here the other day. Runner-up also won here. That mkaes this guy ultra-dangerous.
Sugar Cookie.

THIRD RACE
All for Fashion...Win-early trainer is pretty good with debuting mdn clm'ers as well.
Wall Stret Legend...Trainer likes to win with 2YOs at this meet. Probably would use this gal on top but was bought for $100K in March -- now goes for $75K tag. Still find her dangerous though.
Laurel Lassie...Intriguing Maryland shipper is likely well-meant here.
Really Capable.

FOURTH RACE
Dixie Avenger...Drop from MSW to mdn clm is one of the most potent moves in racing.
Rolex Princess...Bought for $75K, debuts for $50K. Hmmm. But works deserve respect --especially bullet fired on 8/6.
Sweet Return...Pletcher/Velazquez. Second start. MSW to mdn clm. Dangerous.
Fleet Honey.

FIFTH RACE
Magic Alphabet...Showed good early foot before fading a couple of weeks ago against tougher.
So Phun...Also fits at this level and looks like the one to beat.
Just Thunder...Won for this tag two back in Jersey.
Kohut.

SIXTH RACE
Early Snow...Owner/trainer combo have shown success with these SoCal claimed shippers.
Windward Passage...Third start of year. Figs improved start one to start two --despite some trouble last time.
Ginzano...Was running -- and winning -- against better last year. Showed speed in seasonal debut against lesser and should be tighter today.
Just Say the Word.

SEVENTH RACE
Sweet Lil Lolly...Sometimes they take awhile to get the hang of it and she finally seems to have rounded into good form.
Bristol Lane...Needs to negotiate a trip from the outside post -- but top jock onboard. Wouldn't be a surprise.
Innseattle...Faltered a little last time but has run races within last few starts that have been good enough to take this. Concenr is the oh-fer jock.
Secret Troika.
On dirt: Abbagione, No Way No How, Rushing Force, Sissay.

EIGHTH RACE -- Waya $65K
Latice...Group-winner in Europe finds a nice restricted stake for US debut. Off since December but bullet work fired on 8/9 indicates readiness.
Theater RN...Unusual Frankel to Mott trainer switch for this SoCal transplant. Also been away from the races fro awhile but Mott is pretty good off the layoff.
Constant Touch...Could be ready to fire a big one in third start of layoff.
Wintermix.
On dirt: Silent Siren, He Loves Me, Victory Spirit, A Lulu Ofa Menifee.

NINTH RACE
Elisha's Energy...Three solid races in SoCal -- including a "win" last time. DQ'd from that, but fact is, she's already graduated and towers over this bunch if she actually gets into the starting gate -- was training at Del Mar as recently as last week...
Alley Singer...Came from out of the clouds to run second in debut. That move isn't going to cut it on this turf course -- at least not at this time -- but if she can get into it earlier she should go well in second career start.
Behrenessa...Always respect this trainer debuting around two turns.
Fiddlers Pleasure.
Love My Gal.
Tap the Magic.
On dirt: Elisa's Energy, Behrenessa, My Niece Cayla, Love My Gal, Conquest Bound, Alley Singer.

If we are interested in both halves of an entry -- in event of a scratch -- it is noted that way. If only one-half of the entry is named, then we prefer that half and will move to our next pick listed in event of a scratch.
