Total for the meet...

We start the 2004 Saratoga thoroughbred race meet with a mythical bankroll of $1000. Each day we'll use this space to record our mythical best bets and calculate the accumulated wins and losses.

...Like to say we sat by the pool -- but it was a little too rainy and cool. So instead we stayed inside and handicapped...

We ended last season with a little over $300 in our bankroll but the total is somewhat deceiving because we entered the final weekend of the meet with about $800 to play with. We just couldn't get anything going over the last three days. So close...

But we forge ahead with the confidence that this year we'll kick the bankroll into high gear and end the six-week meet in the black! Stay tuned...

We won't go crazy on opening day. The rains of Tuesday have already washed all grass events onto the main track. However the forecast is for some afternoon sun and humidity. So there's really no telling how the surface might -- or might not -- dry out and play.

With turf races already moved onto the main track, all plays are a go today regardless of our standard turf caveat below.

RACE 1/2... $2 doubles... R1/Turn Me Loose/Angelina J... R2/Nosupeforyou.

RACE SIX... $4 exacta box... Golden Look/Breakaway.

RACE SEVEN... $2 exacta box... Guide/Silent Oath.

RACE TEN... $1 tri box... Charming Jim/Lucky Guy/Charismatic Rob/Catch My Cat... sub Watershed Event if scratch.

All turf wagers are turf only

Total bet...$36.00
