We started the 2003 Saratoga thoroughbred race meet with a mythical bankroll of $1000. Each day we'll use this space to record our mythical best bets and calculate the accumulated wins and losses.

Yesterday...

Well, we were right there all meet long, hovering between $800-$1000. In the last two or three days we've taken a swing each day -- and managed to hit a little something we haven't been able to knock it out of the park.

Sunday we had a couple tickets on the nice exacta in the 3rd. If we could have scored again during the day we probably would have made a profit -- but we just couldn't get there. Ran first and third in the 1st. And our tri play in the nightcap was alive until the shadow of the wire...

Any way you look at it we'll still have some money in the bank. We haven't sat on our hands this week and we've managed to nibble a little bit each day. The closing day card doesn't offer as much opportunity as we might have hoped for but we'll give it a shot...
