We started the 2003 Saratoga thoroughbred race meet with a mythical bankroll of $1000. Each day we'll use this space to record our mythical best bets and calculate the accumulated wins and losses.

Yesterday...

Frustrating. Bold Love just couldn't get it done in the 2nd -- finishing second at 5-1.

But our real disappointment was the Sheppard/Augustin runner in the nightcap. We had plenty of plays riding on that one and we received an exciting 18-1. However, the horse was bumped soundly coming out of the gate -- but thereafter jockey just never put the horse into a position to compete at any point on the track and coming down the lane we had absolutely nowhere to go and eventually the runner lost interest.
