Yesterday

4-9. Managed to get back on track a little after a mostly slow third week.

Winners in the 4th (4.50), 5th (4.60), 6th (9.20), and 9th (6.20). Also, second and third choices combined for the exacta ($12.40/$2) and quinella in the 2nd -- the prices were deflated a little by a dead-heat for the place. In the 5th the top pick bested our third choice for the $28.60 exacta and our fourth pick completed the $107.00 tri. In the 6th ours finished a cold 1-2-3 in order for the exacta ($30.00) and tri ($113.00). Our top picks scored a cold $41.40 P3 in races 4-5-6. Our top two picks flip-flopped in the 7th for a $22.40 gimmick. And we just missed another cold tri in the nightcap as our top choice won but our third choice beat out our second pick at the wire for the place spot for a $28.20 exacta and a $73.50 tri.

Om-track, a decent Monday crowd of 18,576 attended. The weather held up for the most part. It was humid and overcast -- but the only precip was some scattered sprinkles. The track was labelled "muddy" throughout.

Todd Pletcher won the 2nd and equalled Syl Veitch's 1954 record for winners in the traditional 24-day period -- a week ahead of the deadline. However, Pletcher and Velasquez were blanked in the featured Adirondack when their Lokoya could do no better than fourth against Biancone's promising Whoopi Cat.
